The difference is greater when viewing the photos at the true size (100 percent). Shrinking them to allow viewing on a monitor, like 800x600 here at Esato, hides imperfections like the excessive noise in the CMOS photos.
(If you never print your photos but always view them on a screen, then you don't need more than at most one megapixel.)

This really shows the paradox of the new cybershot cameraphones:
They come with Xenon flashes (when introduced, first in the industry) but unfortunately, the cheap CMOS sensors take very granulated and noisy/jagged pictures under low light.
The CCD in the i-mobile 902 blows it away.
What is even more hilarious is that they are using Sony's own hardware to beat Sony at its "Cybershot" game
Shows you what corporate profit mongering means in terms of slowly rolling out marginal facelifts and passing them off as expensive new phones.

I bought mine from ebay, user penthaitrading. The phone was
not used, but brand new and included 1 GB microSD and a very nice pair of Sony earphones (MDR-EX71SL) for use with the provided 3.5mm headphone adapter.

The following was an interesting statement:
CMOS cameras may require fewer components and less power, but they still generally require companion chips to optimize image quality, increasing cost and reducing the advantage they gain from lower power consumption.

I agree abu, I also got mine from e-Bay new & unlocked for USD 267,90 + 30 shipping, and that included free 1GB microSD, free Sony headphones and free extra battery.But you have to be careful,with customs in your country, first check the customs and tax in your country.You see I must pay around 80 USD more because of the taxes in my country.I'm going to get the phone soon,in a couple of days.Can't wait!:)
