SE have a 7.2Mbps data card hitting the market very soon; that's innovation. How about the A200 feature of sharing video and still pictures over a video call? I found that mighty impressive, especially as the video file I shared was edited in VideoDJ with effects and still images added.
That's innovative too.

7.2Mbps already out in the market on some Samsung phones so that's in the can. And I don't feel the video/picture sharing over a phone call is particularly an everyday life solution or is it practical unless you like things like shake control. So nope, that doesn't do it for me nor most of the others

The popularity of a feature doesn't affect whether it is innovative or not AFAIK. I bought my wife and eldest son the phones they use and both of these support video calling. Other people I know don't buy 3G phones and those that do don't use video calling and this restricts my ability to use video calling to anyone other than my wife and son. This does not stop SE's implementation of video calling being innovative.

I don't have a Shake Control compatible phone but if I did I would certainly learn to use Shake Control and other accelerometer functions.

now looking at those listed facts regarding the unique things brought by ever since their advent in the industry, i can't really think of anyone determined to say (SE != innovative) once they have seen all these except those who have anti-SE outlook in life

Its obvious that people here dont know what innovative means because they are thinking video calling, face detection are innovative. I suggest you look up 'innovative' in the dictionary.
Innovative doesnt necessarily mean the first of its kind

@QVGA

Thanks for roundly criticising all participants without actually providing any dictionary links yourself.

Here are 3 at/near the top of a google search on "innovative":
http://www.wordreference.com/definition/innovative
http://www.answers.com/topic/innovative
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innovation

It looks to me like we all understand the word 'innovative'.

If QVGA would have it his way, wwe would probably see a phone running around and washing dishes to have it termed as innovative.

@QVGA

Please read the title of the thread again:

"What does the term "innovation" mean with regards to a mobile

What are the last five words again?

Yes, I thought so. With regards to a mobile.

Jeez!

From Wikipedia"The goal of innovation is positive change, to make someone or something better. ".
