Well the G900 has a much better camera spec then the Nokia including software. The Nokia has fancy optics but that's it and plenty of posts on here show what SE camera's can do. And I would much rather have a keypad thanks then a cramped virtual keyboard. And my screen is not cramped at all, it's designed for a purpose and the OS is designed for the screen size and looks much better the the Nokia one.

See when you say stuff like "nokia 5800 is a poor man's iphone" its impossible to argue with you, because clearly you have some personal grudge against nokia

just thought id pop in quickly.

@dextrr, you said:
"And the 5800Xm has virtual keyboards (even landscape) with haptic feedback and they look bigger and easier to use than the G900 cramped physical numeric keypad. So the 5800XM still wins."

i've no idea how the 5800 virtual keyboard will turn out, but about the g900's keypad, im assuming your just going from what you see in photos? because if you had actually used a g900, you would know its a very good keypad. nicely raised... large keys (not at all cramped)... and very tactile... all making it very comfortable to type with, and fast! maybe you should try it before you bash it.

1s of all here in South Africa NOKIA give use a 2year FREE Navigation license with turn-by-turn nav with every GPS enabled NOKIA with NOKIA Maps so NO i wouldn't pay anything. 2nd if the 6220c missing Wi-Fi is a letdown i'd rather get a N78 which has a 2.4inch 16m bright screen and loads of Multimedia, HSDPA AND Wi-Fi than have an outdated SE G900 which has outdated hardware and can't even handle Full YouTube with its default Web browser.
Anyway its amazing how fanboys get when NOKIA present something great if SE made something like this at that price i bet most if not all would be posting things like "Im leaving my g900 for this!!".
I cant believe he's trying to justify why the g900 is better than this when its NOT. G900 is a 3yearold phone in a new casing, thats it.

One, how the hell would I know what Nokia offer you in your country? In the UK Nokia are gracefull enough to give 3 months at the most free Voice spoken turn by turn directions. Not 2 years as you state in your country, so I am using what I can have in my country in my argument.
Two, yes I would rather buy a 6220c over ANY other Nokia, IMO the N series cannot justify it's inflated price as it only offers WiFi that the 6220 lacks. The N96 is nearly double the price, overpriced IMO, especially compared to the N95's specs. In fact what is the difference between N series phones again?
Three, the G900 has a totally new camera interface and a new camera, new interface in general, new CPU, new screen, in a smaller package. It is NOT just a repackaged P1i, I'm geussing you've never used a P1i or G900?
Four, the You Tube fault is affecting what 2 or 3 people on the G900 thread? Mine has worked totally fine out of the box with You Tube. Please don't exagerate on a few isolated cases and turn it into a major fault with every G900 phone as it's totally untue and in no way a vaild argument.

Any other comments................

Hi guys,
UIQ 3 is not a phone for fun. i have been using p900i to p990i and just add another g900. from uiq 2 to uiq 3. i never expect this phone to be a fun media.

I'm serious user in term of business use.

this is how i evaluate my usage priority:

1:call handling - uiq all have the simple and detail browsing in call history. i can easily check back call, how many continuous miss call from the same caller, can seperate different call criteria. 100 call history is to little for me. i need something at least for a month.

2.Messaging - unlimited inbox for message. i can't have a phone which limit me to keep all my important sms. i have msg kept for yrs till now.
UIQ enable me to send 1 message to multiple in 1 session. e.g. i need to send 300 invitation to all the 300 phone number on a list. i can type 1 msg, and keyin all the number with commas and send. this is no kiddo stuff. is a must for me. my frens use 1-2hours to key in all and send with 300sessions. i use least than 30 minutes in 1 session.

3. quickoffice for reading word/spreadsheet is a must for me as i always keep my downloaded document in my phone. i cant on my laptop while i in the middle of the street to check my schedule or a quotation. this is a must for me too.

4.T9keypad - i will never buy a mobile phone without a T9keypad anymore.I nearly crash my car trying to trace an important message to forward to someone with a window mobile phone. is a disaster if u trying to key in a text msg if u have only 1 hand while u having another hand holding the suitcase.
T9 - KEYPAD is a must!! Is same like an old volkwagon have a round steering wheel and a latest gt2 oso have round steering wheel! u cannot drive properly with a latest joystick or touchpad! unleast u is a F1driver, i saw the F1 steering is not totally round!

USB connection to pc without pc suite. it can be read like a card reader.

seems like a good phone definition is different for everyone.

media is a bonus stuff in a phone for me. some phone still have the same call history like 10yrs ago!! many still need to send multiple session of sms to all the different numbers. this is a joke. no improvement for this.
nowdays ppl will only see the camera,media,gps...which i prefer to have the real thing to do the better job.

for me, when i upgrade a phone, i will look at those priority i mention just now. that is an upgrade for me. Not 2.0megapixel upgrade to 5.0megapixel!! A PHONe is a PHONE!
G900 for me is an upgrade. its been size down! i still need the same uiq but is an upgrade to smaller & lighter device.

*sry for typo/bad english. no time to check for errors

FYI ive used both P1 and W960 and although they are nice phones they are not very impressive.
PMPL G900 is using a new CPU! yes cause an ARM9 CPU released in 2005 running at 208mhz is NEW don't think i'd call it new.
I do agree about 6220c, i wouldnt mind taking it over a N78. But fact is the N78 has the larger screen, Wi-Fi, and Ngage, its NOT an Imaging device like the 6220c and its bigger bro N82.
The N96 is a fantastic device, i think people are blinded by its lower clock speed than N95. The N96 has a seperate Video accelerator as well as a DAC to handle its audio in videos and music, top that with DVB-H ,a 2.8inch screen, 16GB internal mem with expansion as well as an optimized OS platform thats low on power consumption its well worth the price.
