The first thing they should do is lower their price, nowadays with the economical crisis they can't continue to sell new phones like W995 at the price of a C905 when new

Sorry to digress.

Do you also know that Ericsson has promised SE 500 million euro to help SE? Sony hasn't come out with a similar offer (as far as I know) but I don't think they would fold their arms while the other partner is willing to help.

Well, thanks for your input. Of course, how can I miss that However, I have the 'news' a bit different. After each and every first quarter, SE must pay Ericsson a amount of money (investment return). However this time around,Ericsson, cursing between their teeth, agreed to a 'financial waver'. To have forced SE to honor their commitment, should have ment 'the end'. Ericsson is not happy about SE's performance and it won't surprise me if Sony will be left alone in this. Do you have a link for that 500million? I don't want to check on you or anything. Would be nice to have it 'official' though.

The problem with is that they don't differentiate themselves well in the market anymore. They r becoming a 'me-too' company in terms of tech with meager qualities. They were trying to became nokia by selling millions and millions of similar, 'popular' phones, but they screwed up. will never be nokia, they were too late in that race and should've tryed to distinguished themselves from the rest instead of trying to copy an old model. They lost their way. From a few revolutionary devices that had high value both in terms of profit and tech, they r now making so-so phones with no substantial lead in any market. The company needs a big wake-up call and a totally new product's team. It's no wonder eldar criticizes so much, I'm sorry but HE IS RIGHT.

WELL SAID!!

I don't think SE copied Nokia's UI ... per se; maybe the Icon layout of S40 was around before any SE phone debuted - including the first Ericson T68m vs the SE T68i. We'll have to goto the history books or www.gsmarena.com for launch dates of early models to be certain.

^^ Well the grid layout on non-OS started with T68i and nokia followed almost 2 years later with their 7250i. on smartphones P800 and 7650 had both grid menu layout, i don't know which one comes first though.

P800 is the oldest smartphone, when it came out it was an earthquake
Of course I am talking of popular brands like nokia,SE,motorolla...
Not the Palm or Imate smartphones that were of the ''special'' people because they were very expensive

Nothing is 'childish' if people in their hundreds are loosing their jobs. (well, unless you are not affected by it) . The link you posted begins with Ericsson saying Sony is the logical buyer of their stake in SE ! ! I am aware, Ericsson 'helped' SE by not demanding their share this time around. It will be interesting to see where Sony will get the money to pump in a company which clearly is on a loosing path. And by the way, sony's 2nd quarter report will turn heads once again - for the wrong reasons though Ericsson does fairly well. What most people on this forum do not understand is: A company must under NO CIRCUMSTANCES have any quarters with negative financial stats. While the board of execs. can make excuses for most other blunders, if it comes to money loss, people will have to go. And sometimes people go even before the 'knife reaches the bone'.

Hello nokia fanboy! stop enjoying the losses of SE,this company stands on flagship phones success and if the W995 will meet its sales promises then Idou will also be another success,so at the end of the year SE would reborn again
Also don't you forgot that nokia got also losses in the first quarter of 2009 and fired hundred of employees????
