I've been through 5 P800's since I joined Orange back in march. (2 were 28 day replacements, other 2 were Orange care replacements.)
I was just dogged with bad luck from the start, first one had 3 dead pixels, 2nd was DOA (dead on arrival), 3rd had dust under screen and faulty jog dial, 4th was crashing constantly which brings me to number 5 and the one I'm using right now!
At last I'm happy (touch wood..) ^_^

But I don't imagine you'd have been as happy if you'd have had to fork out £15 for each of those when it wasn't your fault you needed a replacement each time.....

U get a lot of people ring saying there is dust under the display. This is cosmetic and not covered by care. When u tell some1 that they say they have another problem or damage or lose the phone on purpose. They are the ones to thank for higher costs

@Fritz24
The first two would have never been chargeable as they were replaced within 28 days. And the other two...
Orange will not be charging anything for legitimate faulty replacements during the first 6 months
After then you can either go to manufacturer or you can pay - which is fair enough.

You think 6 months cover is fair when youre tied to a 12month contract???

The sales of goods act thinks so. Plus ur phone is not part of ur contract. So yes its fair.

Ok this is an explantion to why Orange has put its prices up when you go to ovp virgin. The fact is that many people were getting a free phone on a contract from Orange and then changing to the ovp Virgin Tarrif. The tarrif was costing £10 a month and then you could buy out the rest of the contract. Pretty sneeky hey ! So i dont blame Orange for putting the prices up for the people who abuse the system . Maybe they should go to an inferior network who dont care about there exisiting customers !!!!

What's sneaky about that? Perhaps Orange had it underpriced in the first place but that's their call. Now it's overpriced. If Orange promise to match something, maybe they should actually do it.
We'll do a price comparison... The Nokia 3510i
Direct from Orange: £Free
Direct from Virgin: £99.99
To buy on Orange when it used to be £10/Mo. Subsidy: £120.00
To buy when it was £15: £180.00
To buy now (£25 subsidy): £300.00
So that's £300 from Orange vs £99.99 from Virgin.
I agree that things might be different with higher priced handsets, but Orange will always be more expensive.

@orangeman...
Can you point the bit of the SOGA out that says that? Perhaps you're getting 6 months confused with 6 years?
DTI SOGA FAQ
Sale and supply of goods act 1994
I'd be grateful if you could point it out to save me looking...
Also I think it's relevant to point out that all new electrical goods sold in this country must come with a minimum 12 month warranty.
Cheers.

Slightly off topic but there seem to be a few orange employees reading this thread(?) Can Orange match 'Three' tariffs. I've read a few people have managed to get on them. If so how can I?
