Bearing in mind the fact that some retailers have no P800's, if the P900's aren't in the stores this week, they will loose sales. so it does look promising.

@ pachy
you can bitch all you like, but if you open a new contract on any network, unless you pay outright for the phone, then technically it is NOT yours until the full term is up (usually 12 months)
Do you seriously think that if you get a phone free on a new contract, that they are literally giving the phone away to you? No. Part of the cost of the phone is included in the line rental, otherwise no-one would make any money, and would actually lose a fortune.
I agree that locking the phones is a bit of an outdated way of doing things.
Yes I'm aware the date was wrong, I simply quoted out of a voicemail I had literally just receieved. I was giving you information I thought might interest you, and obviously some people are interested, seeing as we now have 2 threads about orange P900s.
Perhaps a "thank you" would be nice. Just a suggestion.
And also, if you read my post, you would have noticed that I said we cannot unlock "in-store". This is true. We can't. But you *can* ring up and ask to have the phone unlocked, as long as you have a valid reason (i.e. not so you can use it on another network, but rather you are going abroad for a long time and want to use a foreign sim or suchlike) but you will be charged, and depending on the phone model, it may need to be sent to the technical department to have it hardware-unlocked (as not all phones can be done with a code).
And I only said "dodgy geeza" (note that dodgy doesn't have an 'e' in it) because typically those are the sorts of people who have the unlocking equipment, at least where I am. The guys who have poor quality fascias and things that look like they came off the back of a truck.
I am fully aware that there are some quality establishments that can unlock phones.
So to close.

No no, the handset simply being bought on 12 monthly payments, it's a credit agreement, if you don't pay then the goods can be repossessed but the nature of the contract is that you have PURCHASED the phone & are paying for it monthly, in fact i have always either bought outright (my P800) or bought a voda/o2 contract UNLOCKED phone then just used my Orange OVP sim in it, thanks for the long post, nice to see you care about me & my life
