Hey YOU ALL sayin stop it, leave it, forget it, buy a P900 or die...

Its an easy thing: You want something, but canīt get it...What to do then ? You go and beg, you go and fight for it. Itīs so easy to understand. People do not have money enough, they canīt afford.
Otherways they paid really, and itīs just a matter of software.

So you that you have money enough to buy a P900, just get it,
enjoy and be friendly. I would bet that all those with wide open mouth here in the forum are owners of a P900. Thatīs clear. So you got it,
then itīs easy to take that point.

Itīs everyoneīs right to fight for what he wants and you wonīt stop it.

I'm confused at what this other guy is just saying, but there's no hard feelings here either, Scotsboy.
One should always be able to get as good as he gives, eh.
Either way, you're okay in my book.
Should we call a truce now, or roll on with the insults???
*rolling up shirt sleeves in eager anticipation....*

Yes well a spot of tiffin is rather good fun old boy, however, it is probably time to call a halt to hostilities.
I must admit that I am in agreement with you (pick up your jaws people ) about that chap. I have no idea what the buggery bollocks he is on about. Actually come to think of it how dare he tell us how to conduct our argument ... This is just the sort of caper for two fiesty Esatoanians.

if you went to buy a merc and asked is it the latest model and your told yes and then you ask before shelling out, "is their going to be a new model anyday soon?" and your told no sir not for a good while this is our flagship phone, well having paid my money sim free price (for the second time first one stolen) and having enquired about a newer model and should i hang on? im told no their will not be anything new along this line for quite a while, the new year at least....

im very Pi$$ed off i think pulled a major 'Fast one' with this phone, i have since been told be a friend who works with and nokia and such companies that knew about this p900 before they released the p800, the p800 was only ever meant to be a trial run as the phone was delayed so much when released due to many problems decided to release it with many of their worries of the design and build not sorted, due to increased pressure fromother manufacturers, and from the industry in general for to deliver on their promise of their smart phone they rushed out the phone and hoped for the best... the p900 is what we should have got first not the p800... the p800 was and is flawed since its release, one example the flip keypad if left on constantly with everyday use leaves the screen with marks and scratches.. basically there are loads of promises made regarding the p800 on release and they have not delivered, this info is in the puiblic domain im too tired to dig it up.. if you have had this phone well im sure you know the details....

for those people saying move on "thats progress" etc get a grip their has been no progress bar the fixes etc we were led to believe we would get with the p800 on release..the features of the p900 where supposed to be in the p800 FACT...

the p900 is no great leap forward from the p800 but i feel totally and utterly cheated by bad customer support and the broken promises as out lined in the petition...

i hope i got my point accross i've just got back from the pub..

@lectrosoul, Move on !

Hey,nobody who can afford expensive cars like mercs, would show how shallow they were by complaining that they can't afford the latest model, like the cars, they have too much class !

I am in agreement with you regarding the fact that the P900 is no big improvement over the P800, hence the reason why i'm really not all that upset about it being released and 'superseding' my P800.
You would be foolish to think that these large companies don't have marketing plans years in advance. I guarantee you that SE will have plans for a good few generations of phones to come beyond the P900. No phone you buy is going to stay state of the art for long, in fact no electronic device will, its the nature of the industry, technology develops so quickly that things become obsolete quickly. Its tough luck, but it happens. Of course I would rather that SE had released a P800 without so many flaws, but frankly it is a damn good device and everyone knows that within a year these things get replaced.
One last point, and really I am not trying to start an argument here, but if I read your post correctly you mentioned having to buy another P800 SIM free because your first one was stolen. Common sense must have told you to insure something that expensive.

@Pachy anyone that has the money to afford a merc or any expensive thing has so because of the fact they would question those type of things! who ever questioned the fact that the phone is expensive? not me just the fact that i asked should i wait a month or so to get this p900 etc and i was told if there was to be a new model it wont be for quite some time... they would get my money either way its a case of their long term plans and treatment of loyal customers... holding on to customers is the number one goal of companies like but once a person has bought a phone from they fail miserably on the backup/customer support front.... im in totall agreement with moving on for gods sake i've five or six other Top line phones to play with im just not so sure the p800 should have been released with not able to keep to what they said on launch of the phone

@scotsboyuk
my phone is not on any contract, i am not on any mobile contract (for variouis reasons!) i bought the phone sim free and use various sims in it etc it was insured under house/flat contents but thats not where it was stolen etc..

anyway roll on the "proper" Big Bro of the p800... P999 wifi, 2megapixel camera, long range bluetooth(100meters+) plus all the simple things still not on the p900 like Profiles, better call management, and the proper inclusion of a task manager etc etc

the reason why called P999?? 'cause thats the number your girlfrind/wife will have to ring when she discovers you've rammed the phone up your dogs Ass cause you discovered theres none of the feature listed above!!

It looks like you've learned the hard way that big companies don't give a toss about people. Its sad, but its what happens. The P800 is still a damned good phone, so don't be too bothered by it.

@Lectrosoul, You said this;

"holding on to customers is the number one goal of companies like SE"

But this is the reality;

SE need to sell as many phones to people as they can.

lectrosoul... there hasn't been a new phone for quite some time!!! The P800 has been out for almost a whole year now!!! That's a long time!

Although I was expecting the P900 around Dec, I'm very happy to know that it's already available in some areas... and it's gonna be out here in the Phil within the month!

My P800 has served me well for 10 months now...that's the longest time any mobile has ever stayed with me! (Well, except for my R310s which I use as back-up)

It's kind of naive for people not to expect new mobile phones every 6 months... where have you people been? That's been the trend since 1997! I think the shortest lived model was the good ol' R520/T39... since the T68 came out just a few weeks after.

I think it would be extremely stupid if kept saying "don't buy our flagship phone yet, cuz we're releasing a new model in 6 months" DUH! ... I EXPECT a new model every 6 months! That would be like asking Intel to NOT release a new Pentium every 3 months! (Which they do BTW)

It's a business! If you're an early adopter (like I am) ... then stop whining about how fast technology is moving... keep up. If you're NOT an early adopter... then good for you! You can wait til prices drop... or people like me to sell their good-as-new units at a bargain price!

I'm annoyed when people claim to be techies... but then complain about how their (insert gadget here) is already obsolete after a few months!

Keeping up with technology is just that... keeping up. DOn't expect technology to slow down just cuz you've decided 'enough is enough'. I know a lot of people who are perfectly happy with their T68i. And I don't try to convince them to upgrade! I like seeing people who are happy with what they have. I'm happy with my P800... I was happy with my T68i... and my R520... and my R320... etc..etc... I upgrade cuz I WANT to... not cuz I need to. If I can't afford the P900 when it comes out... tough luck for me! There's no way I could've waited a whole year for the P900... I knew it was gonna be released soon... but come on... are you seriously gonna play the waiting game? You'll be waiting forever since there's ALWAYS a new model just around the corner.

You don't see Nokia people complaining that Nokia has been re-selling the same unit for the past 4 years (the 8110-8910i are basically the same unit) It's a business.

"What? Goodyear has new tires? Mine are already worn out! I demand a free replacement!"

"The new 2004 BMW is out already... I just bought my 2003 BMW... why didn't they tell me that they'd be releasing a new model like they've been doing every year since they were founded!"

"I demand a free upgrade to the latest Pentium 4!!!! I bought a Pentium I MMX a few years ago and Intel said it would blow everything away with its performance!"

"Oh no!!! I sold my stocks right before the prices went up!!! Can I buy them back at the price I sold them, then resell them at a higher price?"

"Why didn't anyone tell me that the Lotto ticket I bought was NOT the winning number??? I demand a refund!!!"
