Overall the P900 is a great phone with the pros outweighing the cons. The most advantage is gained in the flip open and the flip closed should be used mostly for very routine things. Definitely read the manual!!!!
Yes, there are a few annoying things - like not being able to close an app (what would a simple X button on each app have cost SE) or not being able to delete ur SMS inbox/outbox/sent in one stroke (found on the basic of all phones).
But hey - we all have annoying traits too!!!
My advise to P900 users or potential buyers - Factor an additional $100 on your P900 purchase. You will probably need to spend another $100 or so at Handango to buy apps that make the P900 dynamite!!!
Apps I find useful include:
Tracker/TaskMan - with plenty free skins on their site.
Advanced Call Manager
SmsMachine
AgileMessenger (but beware!!! may not work on ur phone)
HandyTools (expensive and I'm so so on this one).
Always download the trail version first and make sure ur over the initial excitment on the app so as to purchase what u really need.
Love my P900!!!

I have my P900 on the clock screensaver and when I miss a SMS message or call (due to not hearding it or what not) it goes back to screensaver after the set time.

There is no notice that you missed a call or message. The screensaver should not come back on if a call or message is missed.

Not sure if I agree with that, since, in essence, it is a power saving feature. I'd prefer my battery to last longer; all one has to do is to check occassionally.

My list of annoying "features" or lack of (which do include some already mentioned)

- Incoming message/call/etc notification taking focus when writing an sms/email ARRRGH!!!
- no option to recover draft in flip closed
- calc in flip closed
- lack of light on clock screensaver
- message viewing time out (noticed this recently while following directions from an email and every x minutes it returned to default flip closed mode)
- vibrate isnt nearly as strong enough, i often miss "vibrates" when in my pocket.
- the speed of T9 and the capitalisation bug is still there!

Also, you might want to check your screens against a brand new P900 in a shop. My dad has just bought one (same f/w) and mine has a strange pinky blue tint compared to his - his clarity is much better. It's going to the local SE service center for a new screen today. I'm wondering whether 3/4 months use of this device has affected the screen clarity

Oh and one more thing - the crap quality of the phone holder that comes with it - has anyone actually managed to keep it on their belt for a day without it almost or actually falling off?

so lame for a quality phone

DT

I really don't understand why on SE-P900 (well at least mine) the jog-dial don't work normal if the flip is removed? I cannot use the backward & inward direction. Ggrrrr... This message was posted from a WAP device
