1. why dont you buy 3310 instead of yours,z600?
2. why do you have a phone with camera, you will not be a producer.
1: I bought a z600 because, i liked the design and the features of it.
2: I have a phone with a camera in it because sony ericsson decided to put a camera in the phone.
i think your missing my point:
i purchase a phone to call people, and any other things like cameras, videos, mp3's are a bonus.
the difference between me and other people is that i don't complain about these extra features being crap, rubbish, a waste of space etc... as i very rarely use them.
when iam buying a new phone the main questions i ask myself are
1: Does it look good?
2: Is it an improvement on what i have?
3: Is it easy to use?
4: Is it comforable to use?

About time someone said it. I get sick of reading people
moan and moan about phones like the K700, S700, P900 and Txxx/Zxxx series not having enough memory, or the pictures not being of high quality..
They are bloody phones !
If you want to listen to lots of MP3's, buy an iPod ! If you want to take high quality photos, buy a dedicated digital camera ! If you want lots of memory, buy laptop !
I'll be buying BOTH the K700 and S700 when they come out because i like them, and the features they have. The lack of memory isnt a problem for me as i'll be using them primarily as a PHONE

(heh, who'd think of it !), and use their other features as a secondary use.
When i get my K700, i'll be using its 32mb memory limit to store pictures, games, radio stations, MP3 ringtones, themes and other files..
When i get my S700, i'll be using its 128mb memory limit to store my 1.3mp pictures, games, radio stations, MP3 ringtones, themes and maybe a handful of MP3's to listen to while on the bus, working, etc.
I use my phones for what SE intended them to be used for, i dont expect them to be something they ARE NOT !
I also had to get that off my chest !

The S700 has expandable memory.. 128mb per stick.
So what if we had to carry more than one Duo stick around with us ? Is it really such a big problem ?
I can think of advantages of using say two 128mb sticks instead of one 256mb stick, such as in case of theft, you still have some of the memory with you, you only lose whats stored in the stolen phone. Or if one stick gets corrupted, you only lose the data on the stick that gets corrupted, not both (unless you're really unlucky).

they are fair point and yes i do expect it to be a phone for most and about to text and wap second and ability to sync
camera i dont care about hence the fact i aint intrested in and manipulations that are added
on the point of mp3 i agree buy an ipod if you can afford it but if a phone can use them i would expect to get 1 album on and that for me is fine beyond that yes buy an ipod
games are getting better and i have a few on my t610 same if i get a k700 i will have a few and will store then on the pc as i do now and just transfer what i need
i was just dissappointed in the overall memory as it has mp3 support and that memory is taken up with things that most people dont seem to use

See, you could store a whole album on a 128mb memory stick if the bit rate was kept at a certain level to keep a balance between file size and audio quality.
All my Mp3's are on average 6mb in size or under and converted to 192kbps, which is about CD quality (i think). So on a 128mb memory stick i could fit about 21 tracks on it. The average album holds around 10-20 tracks (depending on length of each track etc..), so you could fit an album on it easily.
Obviously this isnt possible on the K700, but then again,

never intended it to be.
Apps like the music DJ dont really use much of the phones internal storage space, as they arent very complex. Sure, it would be nice to uninstall apps like it if you didnt want to use them, but you wouldnt get much memory back by doing so.

@ettab yes i use a 128mb on my palm and can fit an album on and if i use ogg can get a couple on.
not sure i agree when you se never intend the k700 to be like this yes the memory implies this but if you read the site and white paper it describes the media player as playing mp3 and gives the impression that its an mp3 not just that you can use the mp3 as ringtones which given the memory is pretty much all you can do
in true its not a huge loss to me as i much prefer the sound from cds and would rather carry a few cds and a cd player with good headphones and hear the music as it was intended not compressed
just thought i would have a moan anyway

Yes i read what SE said about the K700's mp3 player, but what i meant was, i don't think SE intended it to be used by heavy mp3 users as a replacement for devices such as iPods, its not aimed to rival them.
You could probably fit 4-5 of your favourite mp3's on the K700's 32mb storage.

How ? did the Z1010 tell you ?
I dont think SE will let us have 41mb for use, i think they'll do something to limit it to about 32mb, such as installing crap we cant delete like pictures of flowers, and silly screensavers that are 500kb in size
