I dont think that the colour of the thm would have any effect to the battery. I use 5 or 6 thms, constantly change them, didnt noticed any difference at standby time. The screensaver is a very usefull thing, the battery stby time is longer if its on, made some private tests. The personalize of fones is a good idea, still dont get why se stopped the my shortcuts feature. To present only one choice is a joke and for no use.
