The li-pol and Li-ion batteries differ in no other aspect than the way the energy cells mould.
Poly is more flexible (viscous) so it can be shaped thinner or in akward shapes. The energy storing technology is the same = lithium.

I agree... Ion batteries are not inferior to polymer as some posts suggest. It is simply that polymer cells are not rigid and can be moulded into different shapes.

I have read in some places that polymer is actually very slightly inferior to the ion, due to the complex material used to hold the cells together.

Both can be charged in exactly the same way. Neither have memory effect, and can be charged or topped up whenever you want.

polymers are better than ion. Simply because they dont have the ghosting effect and they are more hard wearing. They also give around 20% longer life as oppose to Li - ion battery's regardles of the mAh as their more efficent bateries and ar emore stable and less effect by temprature and other variables.

So if your phone has a Lithioum Ion battery complain as you deserve the Japan made Lithium Polymers.

I got my Orange K700 as soon as it came out and it has the Lithium Polymer.

THIS is the most accurate statement with regard to the difference between the two types of batteries. There is nothing else to it!
