My p910i is turning up tomorrow from Vodafone (cost me £70) if I format the c:\ when it turns up will it remove all branding (like on my p800)?
I will back it up first just in case

Unfortunately no, the branding will still be there after a format.
The worst part is tha horribly compressed startup logo, it will need a generic formware flash to delete the branding.

could someone point me in the direction of a thread that has discussed p910i unbranding? could I for example take it to CPW and have them flash it to the latest firmware?

I'm certain I have not seen such a thread and have not heard anyone mention they have had a P910 de-branded yet

Yesterday I searched the Gnutella network (using BearShare) for P900 and found references to cracks that remove branding from SE P900.
Didn't download because I don't need it.
Maybe you can take a look at those and see if they are for real?
