Just to confirm ALL you have said. Just bought new ibook and it isync-ed perfectly with my p900 first time! cannot yet send an sms but know in esato there's a thread so will pursue that later. The phone even has the call manager up on the screen when bluetooth is on! Absolutely flawless integration. i love my p900 and my new ibook!

Ahhh... another MacMan
Great news solus. The best part about all this is that you won't even find any of the Sony Ericsson phones on the "Made for Mac" pages on apple.com which busies itself selling Treos instead.
I wish more attention was being paid by "made for Mac" to manufacturers who simply comply with standards and therefore work with Macs..... had it not been for this very thread on Esato I'd have bought myself a Treo 600 and be doomed to Handpsring/PalmOne service and support- or more accurately- lack thereof.
Sheesh

If you want your P800 / P900 to look like a MAC you could get Tracker 4 and the OSXP skin from my site. So when you have your phone working with your MAC you will have a phone that fels like its a MAC

Enjoy

deggy.....
Just to be sure before I spend 20 Euros on Tracker..... would the OSX skin work on my P800? It seems to appear as a P900 skin on your website.
Cheers

@DIVAVI,
I would not buy Tracker. I had it on my P900 and it seemed to drain the battery. Infact there was a thread here about that a few months ago. There are other theme devices for the P800 if you need them. Try
www.epocware.com as a place to start.

Howdy dudes......
Got a new question- I'm trying to bluetooth files from my P800 to my iBook. And each time I try I get a message on the P800 saying that the Bluetooth send has failed. If I got to system preferences and set Blutooth to accept all files without requiring authentication (I'd usually leave it on "require authentication") then the P800 can bluetooth files to the iBook.
I'd much rather have the authentication thing required for safety's sake. I know us mac users are immunce to viruses but heck.. the thought of anybody being able to send anything they want to my iBook whenever they want is a bit scary.
I'm using Mac OSX 10.2.8
Help please

Hey dude. Guess what???!!! It will not work with 10.3.6 as well. If I turn off the Authentication and Encryption, it works like a charm.
Also, make sure that you have the devices you want to communicate as favorites, set the BT to non-discoverable and then no one can see you. Only the devices that are in your favorites lists.

Hmmm.......
So it's not a Jaguar issue. I'm a little worried. I'd rather have a secure connection between the iBook and the P800 instead of having to drop the iBook's pants every time I want to send a file from the P800 to the iBook.... either that or have the iBook to a precautionary sweep for other Bluetooth devices within range before sending files to it.
A bit of a drag when doing the cool techno worker thing at the wifi enabled cafe down the road.
Does it work the other way round? Do you have to leave the P800 in "accept everything" mode whenever I want to send a file to it? Is there something wrong with the bluetooth security protocols or are they just peculiar to OSX?
Cheers

As I no longer have a P800 or P900, I can not vouch for Symbian, but on my s700 and k700, I leave the discovery off and then do a simple pairing. They are both anon to the world but they can see each other.

@DIVAVIdude;
When you have a G3 mac, I really recommend you use panther.
It's just so much faster than Jaguar (or wait a bit and go for Tiger).
Have fun with your P800!
