Will I be 'concuring' then? LIFE is becoming so HARD as the years passes by, JUST who would have thought that Sony and Ericsson will be merging back then, as Ericsson is just doing fine with their Sales in the mid and latter part of the 90's, until the very INEVITABLE happened - resulting to Financial Constraints! This is very evident in the Car Industry too mate: Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi et al and so with the Banking Institutions! You WILL just NEVER know what will HIT the very elusive M A R K E T next @bobafett!

for me Ericsson has never stopped making handsets.
It still makes handsets with SE but I sort of view Ericsson as having moved onto a higher plane.
Ericsson have always done more than simply put it's name to mobile phones.
It provides platforms for Siemens and other manufacturers, (One being far east manufacturer I think) and runs a huge telecomunications network which operators depend upon.
You could do a lot worse that choose Ericsson to pair up with if uou a manufacturer. It is not some Johnny-come-lately when it comes to telecommunications.
It does no good trying to work out what /// mobiles would look like today as the technology has moved on so quickly. It is 2004.
When was the last /// design released? If /// was still producing it's very own mobiles you can be sure they would look nothing like what they used to make, although they would have the Ericsson 'look'.
Sony too.
Everyone knows you always pay that 'little bit more' for Sony products as they seem to put that little bit more thought into the design and usability , whether it is the Vaio laptop or the Wega TV, Walkman or Cybershot.
For me that desirability has been bred into SE handsets, the S700 being the most perfect example, so if you think either of these two companies have not benefited from this alliance then think again.
PS @scotty. Where not Ericsson mobiles aimed at the business customer? They always seems so "serious' and sedate to me, even the coloured ones.
