Friends, all said and done, i find sony ericsson and ericsson sets to give the best clarity of speech in any given network condition, even at the cost of the battery. My t630 performs exceptionally even in very poor network levels. Of course it drains the battery to talk in such conditions, but i cant expect any nokia to do the same, on matter how many cars of signal strength it shows. Ditto with gf768, only its battery would not take the load for long. This message was posted from a T630

hmmm, maybe I don't have to switch from SE after all !!! (that's good news)

From the replies so far it seems I should try either a p910 or a k700...

let's see how much cash I can save before x-mas...

Never during my ten years of using Ericsson and Nokia phones have I experienced what you are saying. Change service provider and you most certainly will do fine in the future!

In my experience I've had a little bit better reception for all my Ericsson phones than I've had with my Nokia phones (except for the T600 - it had bad reception).

Maybe K700i is right choice for you. As I have read from other threads also: most of people praise the reception of K700i.

I tried K700i myself too. I can't say is it the reception better or not (to compare with T68i). But symbols of signal strength were more stable on the display of K700i.

I walked arround a bit, T68i in the one hand, K700i in the other hand. At the same time those symbols on the display T68i moved from 2 to 4, but on K700i there were mainly 4 symbols (bars).

I do agree that the earlier versions of SE are poor in network signal reception but guess the new k series have already overcome that issue. This message was posted from a K700i

Most of my fone models back then can ONLY reach 3 bars at it's peak when positioned in my room, unlike those of my Nokia's where it can reach - FULL/MAXIMUM bar Surely, this is JUST one of 's setbacks with regards to their fones!
