in reply to everyone (sorry i didnt reply quickly i bin workin all day

)
When u say limit use... in what way? the content control or the number of sites. as the content control can be taken off free of charge if u go into a voda store....
The exclusivity is 3 to 4 months, though this may change according to number of sales, problems etc.
As firmware is manufacturer dependant i dont know the exact changes but will try to find this out for u.
Yeh the 3G services are doing really well. Store staff are getting extra commission so sales are doing well.
In comparison to other phones the v800 isnt doing as well as we expected mainly down to its price we think. The motorola

v980 is our best seller and also our cheapest...
Up until the middle of february the only umts phones we have in progress are the nokia 6630, sharp 902 and sharp 802. though this is subject to major change.
Vodafone sees three key groups for live... the young, the young and affluent (i.e. more money than sense) and the slightly older person who might use the odd feature... obviously the middle group will spend the most so that is why the key items are aimed at 18-25 yr olds.
It just seems the best teams already wear red so its just a lucky colour i think.... (apart from england cricket... they dont wear red...)
The only colour v800 is the black/silver one. They like to keep the brand simple and like to have one type of each phone. gives customers less choice but makes the choice much quicker in store.
The onyl news i could find out about live tv channels is that is being looked into as a possibility. What that means is internal testing taking place to see if it can work or not.
The themes thing i aint got a clue sorry...
i hope this answers those questions, if not just pm me....
J.
AND THE CHANGE IN TARIFF THINGY.... WELL THEY DIDNT CHANGE THE TOS. IT ONLY APPLIES TO NEW CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE SIGNED A CONTRACT IN LAST 3 MONTHS. BEFORE THAT THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT ON WHEN U CAN GO UP OR DOWN A TARIFF... JUST MENTION THAT U KNOW THIS AND THEY WILL LET U DO IT. IF NOT ASK TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. IF U DO HAVE A PROBLEM GETTING IT CHANGED JUST PM ME UR DETAILS AND I WILL GET IT CHANGED.... PLEASE NOT I WILL ONLY DO IT IF THERE ARE NOTES ON THE ACCOUNT AND U SIGNED UP LONGER THAN 3MTHS AGO. PLEASE DONT PM ME UNLESS U FIT INTO THESE RULES. THNX.

Not encountered any content control so far so might not apply here. i mean charge extra for browsing outside voda live portal. What's up with that?
My broadband provider doesn't charge extra fro browising esato, why does vodafone?

all i can say is: yuck!
wouldn't hurt voda to pay some attention to the loyal 25-40 customer who is not 'too old' for modern features
Is signing up new customers more important than keeping existing ones?

@vlam
25-40 falls into the young and affluent within vodafone... the slightly older customers fall in the 50 -> group...

Really?
1 example: vodafone Live! tv in NL
1 non stop music channel
2 vodafone music channel
3 ruud de wild (popuplar dj) music top 5
4 vodafone fun channel
5 last news bulletin
6 erotic channel
how many items do you spot aimed at 25-40?
I see 2
What it lacks most of all (imho) is some variety and something interesting. 3 music channels??
and 'erotic channel' might not be suitable for 'in the train' viewing... who knows... so probably won't pay 25 cents to find out
leaves one item that might be worth viewing

wow! u get erotic channel??? The UK Vodafone have introduced a content control which restricts acess to adult material for under 18's and even then they dont have any adult content to look at worse than models in bikinis etc...
If u PM me with some content u think would be good for your age group i can pass it on to the department that deals with content globaly an maybe they put some of it in there....

I'll give it some thought jon, thjings I'd like to see
And yes we have an erotic channel. We are the free and openminded Dutch after all
But as I said I've no idea what it is as I'm not prepared to pay the 25 cents for 15 minutes
