Insurance can be a bit of a con, so shop around, it may even be cheaper to increase the home policy, certainly worth a look at.

had a friend who had his phone stolen t610 on the train from prague, that was horrible to find out that you could have your phone stolen on a 3 hour train ride.

People in prague will easily taken everything when you use public transport, but the train was a complete shock to all the foreign students here in Czech Republic.

Never had a problem with school kids, mostly cos i went 100% private schools i guess.

Shame what happened to you all but what can you do. Worst when its new as well.

I had read some nasty stories about prague prior to visiting last year, especially the trams which are notorious for theft. I have to say that after serveral trips one tends not to get so paranoid about it but neverless I always made sure that was very aware of what was going on around me and made sure my phone stayed out of view of potential thiefs.

Having to be so carefull not to atract the wrong type of person is a pain in the buttocks ! It's a sad fact of life that some people do not respect the hard work people have to do to be able to buy nice things ! To them it's an easy meal ticket for which I wish they would choke on !

I lost my phone in an odd incident last year, where armed gangsters raided us, took like 2 laptops (an ibook & something else), like 9 mobiles (we had visitors), & some currency. Oh and hijacked someones car outside our gate!!!

there was another incident like that at my house some months later, but was in school. & fortunately my relevantly newer phone didn't get stolen.

Writing that reminds me, I really gotta get out of this country!!!
