i got to agree with blackspot... hehehe... nokia fix bugs by designing new design to the same phone with a new model no. haha... its so obivious... not sayin NOkia is a bad phone.. its a great phone.. but.. y be so excited with a new model where 90% is the same... 1 thing tat pisses me off is.. NOkia some new model doesnt hv a bluetooth.. than makes the same phone with a bit of tweaking in design and equip WITH bluetooth and different model no. WHAT??!!

Nokia sucks because
1] there's no firmware upgradation like in SE . one cell phone of nokia has bugs and other problems they come up with other model which is cuz of lack of updating . 2] none of the nokia cell phone is proper either they dont have mp3 or ir , bt , mp4 file format , acc audio format etc there's no nokia cell phone which includes all this. Dont say k700 doesnt has memory slot and symbian well k700 doesnt has memory slot cuz there is another cell phone for the slot and k700 is a non symbian This message was posted from a K700i

nokia do offer firmware upgrades like se do for the first 12months for free not online sadly but its still there.
also as for thrid party software the idea of a smartphone is to use third party software the p series uses it and not every program is tested by se also java games are third party software and aint tested by se for there phones.
so i aint sure what point your trying to make. in the end it comes down to needs and taste
i had a chose when i upgraded last between the k700 and n6600 the nokia was cheap as it was older, it had bluetooth which i needed as does the se, i hate mp3s as they sound shit so was nt bothered that the noikia was mono, the expandable memory and amount of free software was what sold it to me. i dont think the k700 is crap quite the opposite i do find the looks dull and a bit conservative but i find this the same of most se phones, having said that ive never bought a phone just for how it looks.
its really what the individual needs and what features suit him, for me there are a world of phones out there and i aint gonna tie myself to one maker as they dont give me anything in return for loyalty

Nokia are as good as SE end of.

SE have given Nokia such a kick up the ass, it started with the T68, and all though Nokia release more gimick phones they do make good phones anyone that says anything else it lying.

As said before i have and still use a 7610, its one of the first few that were sold in the UK and it hasnt needed a firmware update so far and its 7months old. Now i cant see Nokia doing an online update as soo many kiddies will f**k up their phones doin it. Where as SE knows that not many 14 year old kids have a Pxxx so for them its worth it.

Nokia support more file types than SE (im out of touch a little but i still dont know of a Real player for Pxxx yet!) they have always had crap IR support on S40 phones so it righly being replaced by BT.

someone asked me about the maps early on and i did mean TomTom maps the real ones

2)if you compare this k700i to nokia 6600 also, which is almost the same cost as k700i, the later beats it any day. first of all its a symbian 60 phone, a smartphone. and there is also no bug found in nokia symbian 60 series phones. not like these shitty SE phones which needs to be upgraded---u already mentioned this--- as soon as you buy them.

2---now get this....the freakin s60 phones hang more than twice a week.

3) cam quality. now even a 6600 beats k700i any given day. if you dont believe this try using night vision at night where there is very less light. its amazing!

3---who said so.....o sorry i never realised ur freakin bullshittin......yo u tellin everyone here about cam quality??? k7 does a better job of image rendering than most phones n especially better than the old 6600.n if want a cam go get one.....i'd say that phones are jus cheap excuses for stone carvings.

4)durability. these phones are preety much ruff n tuff. u can use it without any fear and roughly. i know it coz i do it my self.

4---so ur tellin me that these phones are durable but not other phones? give me a break....i dropped a 3530 from the first floor and the darn thing litterally dissintegrated.
well my metal cased t610 and k700 have also sustained jus a few scratches after drops. n by the way most people rough use their phones so don tell them....they know it already.

5) too many softwares available as its symbian 60! you can use and configure as you like it. gives loads of oppurtunities.

5---exactly....TOO many....there are so many stupid softwares that make no sense at all.....sheesh imagine using a software to have a simple screensaver!! ur jus using more system resources.

6) memory card slot. s700 has it but the k700i does not have it.

6---so waht r u gonna use ur mmc for a bunch of mp3s that play crappily with zero bass and enough treble to hurt ur ears?

7)and last but not the least. its amazingly user friendly. be it any nokia phone in any category, be it series 60 or series 40 or even the older monochrome ones. they all are too user friendly. none other phones of any other company is that good.

all these points mentioned above proves that nokia phones gives amazing value for money.

i am also saying this from my own personal experience. i am using nokia 6100 from almost a year now but still its very good and extremely user friendly. i know its a very basic colour phone but it just does the job very perfectly. and i also have a monochrome 3330 which i am using from past 3 1/2 years. and it still rocks. it still has amazing clearity and good reception. both these phones are almost highly abused and have fell off on hard surfaces many a times but it still works great.

----don give me this crap....i've used more phones than u can even imagine....n the 6100 does not rock...nor does the 3330....they suck....why am i even wastin my time sayin this....u should've known!! good lord.

with nokia phones its like that

I am a nokia user from past 3-4 years and almost shifted to SE with k700i but at the last minute, my eyes opened and i was saved!

That's funny. I gave up my Nokia 6100 for a SE T610 and never looked back. Except for a brief flirtation with a v600, all of my phones have been SE. SE's screens look better (and generally bigger) updated firmware and better build quality kept me in the SE camp. Mac interoperability and beautiful (and free) themes sealed the deal. Now I am using a p900 and a k700i and from an interface perspective it blows the doors off of any Nokia i've seen. I guess YMMV!
