> Should I still get the S700?

Not a bad deal. Mine was on O2. 400 + 400 mins + 150 texts for £45 / Month and phone was free.
Don't forget to get your synch-station (DSS-25). They are on ebay for £10 - £12 it is great for creating your own themes and transferring pictures from phone to pc etc.
Get your wap/mms/email settings sent to you free from the SE website by text. No probs.
Games look ace on the S700 as well as the screen is just the best.
Bet you cant wait

Yeah I thought it was a pretty decent deal. I considered going to O2 on the £45 1000 text tariff, but ended up just using that to haggle Voda offering me something similar.
However... I am just off the phone to them again enquiring as to when they would be getting more S700 stock in. Their answer: "There's actually a problem with text messages using the S700 on our network, so until Sony fix that, we won't be getting it in." She said the K700 had the problem recently, and took "a few weeks to get sorted out".
I guess this is the same problem people were complaining about in the S700 bugs thread.

Yeah I had the same problem with mine but it was easy to fix.
You just change the Preferred Sms Sccess setting from GPRS to GSM and it fixes the problem. (This is found in the Connectivity tab).
The O2 settings that are sent out must default to the GPRS setting which causes problems.

@JN - No I don't have it yet as they are taking a few weeks to sort out the 'texting problem', so until then I just have to wait. But if they just sent me one I could do Goldenface's seemingly simple fix.

@JasA. The problem with the texting is only affecting customers who are on O2 and using K700 and S700.
As you are on Vodafone you will not be affected by this problem so as soon as yours arrives it will be problem free
