Calling me silly when you persist in saying that??
Its not true, Ericsson are practically DEAD, they messed up their finances and suffered as a consequence. But so did Sony, so they needed each other!

@ vanquish: the stuff that ericsson had ready was to advanced for its time, that was the problem. if they had waited 5years then they would've become one of the most powerfull companies ever.

@vanquish
I belive david1975 was talking about the subject and not you personal.
Also what bart is saying is true. Ericsson had really advanced stuff ready, to advanced for their time. Problem was that Ericsson didn't concentrate on the mass, and there fore mobile part started bleeding really much money that almost took whole company to the grave.
A small peak was T68. _Nothing_ could match that phone for a year.. then came T610 (SE yes..) and nothing could match that phone either for a year either..
SE is a brand, u'll have to look @ what is behind the brand.
btw Ericsson is really alive and kicking.. who do you think makes 3G come alive?

And I'm not talking about the phones now.
google "Ericsson Mobile Platforms" and go to
www.ericsson.se if you want to se what the company is really about.

I know, i take nothing personally except a few rude remarks that happened in the past on Esato
Anyway, i dont like this whole fuss about Ericsson. As i say, technology is great, but without finances and means to implement technology it isnt great!

got to say i agree you can have the best idea s in the world but if noone wants to give you cash to develop them or youve got no cash then its pointless or its not as good an idea as you think it is

good.. also there was nothing personal in my post either.
The finances in SE are 50/50 .. the win is 50/50 ..

The old Ericsson phones are only dull to the youth of today, this is because you've been generally used to cool phones, but back then those Ericsson phones were innovative and cool. The T68 for your information was a design by ERICSSON and not by Sony Ericsson, so Ericsson were on the right path anyway.
Its just that as soon as they merged, technology began to develop, and the possibilities expanded.

btw little off topic ..
what I personally think that "killed" Ericssons phone section back in the days was the screen. Nokia had 5 lines+ and Ericsson had 1 or on some phones 3 lines .. so basically those advanced phones was nothing for the kids that wanted multirow games and sms
