Pope Joan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
According to medieval legend, Pope Joan was a female pope who reigned from 855 to 858.
Pope Joan is regarded by historians as a myth, possibly originating as an anti-papal satire which gained a degree of plausibility due to certain genuine elements related in the story.

In theory any body who has been baptized can be pope.
I would personally like to see the most kindest, honest and loving cardinal to take the top job, we are all gods children so it really doesnt matter if you are black or white or which country you were BORN in.

I personally would hope for somebody strong of character in well aware of the problems of the world in this day and age.
The stories about Pope Joan strange do not seem to occur until years after her supposed brief reign and although the story certainly has a few points that seem viable (and of course the catholic church has a history of 'deleting' women from history's records) there are also some points that seem grotesque and myth-like and more of a 'tell tale warning' (for women.... giving birth in the street when you're the most educated and decidedly wealthy person in your time???) than a real event.........
Although very interesting, it's not for this topic though, is it?

According to the link you provided:

So all the evidence points in one direction: that no female pope could have reigned in the 850s.
Should've read it...

Why do you guys have to go off topic
The names of those emerging as possible papal successors include contenders from Latin America, such as Cardinal Claudio Hummes of Brazil and Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga of Honduras, and a Vatican official from Africa: Cardinal Francis Arinze of Nigeria.
Europeans mentioned include Belgian Cardinal Godfried Danneels, Cardinal Christoph Schoen born of Austria and German Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. Italian "papabili" include Cardina lDionigi Tettamanzi and Cardinal Giovanni Battista.

@Vlamm
I didn't say it didn't exist.
I was just trying to say that tranquil used the link as a document to backup her existence, and in fact it works the other way around, saying that her existence is UNLIKELY to have happened.
