@Clank,

The difference between me and several in this thread and even this forum is that I go to the source. I never guess, speculate, figure, or wonder. I call, check, ask and then become an informed individual instead of posting questions to easily answered questions. As you see, people here are posting so-called facts that which in turn happen to be incorrect. I know from SE that they have not imposed a restriction on their phones, but that the operators have due to the totally outrageous phone bills that can happen when using MMS. I guess I should have suffix'd all of my posts with a disclaimer:, "I do not not care, do what you want to do and think what you want to think all the while posting the same thing over and over."

I am over it.

Hehe, I really love this post. You ARE absolutly right. Its clearly stated earlier in this thread that SE says its on purpose. Why do people then continue to SPECULATE about it being an error and how to get it fixed.

It's on PURPOSE. Stop writing posts and read others please!

@Mrb 18,

Just got off the phone with SE here in Finland and Sonera. The limits are set "SOMETIMES" by the firmware and all the times by the operators. While in Kuwait, 100kb was it. This is up from the paltry 50kb limit. The main reason for this as I said before is due only to the unsuspecting phone bills that drop at the end of the month. People sometimes do not make the connection that an MMS is not an SMS, and are billed differently. Another thing is that some operators do not allow sending MMS from one operator to another, especially when roaming or from one country to another. With this being the case, I will back down a notch about things being completely firmware restricted, however the limitation is always with the operator.

As you can see from the User Agent Profile provided by SonyEricsson, the max. MMS size for K750i is 300 kB. That's the fact that is provided by SE, not anybody else.

BTW. How MMS and SMS are billed differently in Finland? Yes, SMS is cheaper than MMS, but is the billing different is some other way?

An SMS is usually billed at a fixed price, i.e. one SMS = say .19 Euro cents, while an MMS is based on the size of the data. Vodafone, in Germany was charging a fixed price for a MMS but switched to a data packet format. Finland is the same. If you use data, i.e. MMS, then you are billed at the end of the month for the data usage.

@trentors. If the UAProf says 300kb and The_Morgue can't send one larger than 100kb then he does have valid point that needs to addressed if there are no network restrictions where he is.

Where exactly does it say 300 kb? I read the Developers Guidelines that was linked to earlier and the K750 is NOT even mentioned. Please show my ANYTHING that claims its 300kb!

i own a S700i & the size of the mms i sent yesterday was 385 kb ...
i sent it.... & after a while the phone told me that the person recived it ... i asked my friend & he said.... coool vid mate....
any way .... it is the network fault i asked my other friend ( he works in that stuff ) & he said that the update "changed" the settings
i think that's what happend .... you can see that issue as solved !!!
any way ..... you'd better get you're self Z800 or a new 3G (SE ) phone as they can send 300 kb's for sure.........
for example .... : nokia S60 (only the 3g's )
Z800.Z1010..... .....
wait till SE will announce a new 3g phone in october ...

Grats

And now wheres the link to the K750's MMS limit. You post must have a purpose i surpose - I just don't see its relevance....

People keep comparing a bug or feature of a newly realesed phone with their old phones. Newsflash people : The new phones usually have changes from older models, besides their names

@the morgue. How did you do the update? Is your phone still branded? I tried to update the Orange FW of my K700 using SEUS but it was still branded when it finished.

Then how do you explain that I can send 300kB MMS from my OLD K500i !!!! Same SIM same operator!!!

I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS. IF THE EVOLUTION ON THE PHONES IS TAKING A STEP BACK, THEN DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT I WILL SUPPORT IT!!!
FREE UNLIMITED MMS FOR ALL!!
Morg FOR PRESIDENT!!

...oops! Sorry. Got a litle carried away there! I'm just bored about this now.

Oh! Btw.
I Couldn't send larger MMS than 100kB before the update either!

Here, http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/K750iR101.xml. Go to the "MMS Characteristics Description" at the end of the document. It's there in the beginning.

Well, at least Finnish operators seem to have fixed price for MMS: TeliaSonera 0.39 €/MMS and Elisa 0.38 €/MMS. So, you're not paying for the data usage.
