**LONG POST**

This one's been picking my brains for quite sometime now. I'm on an iBook G4 running 10.3.8 and latest BT and iSync versions.

First I had problems selecting the option to sync the R2AE033 equipped K700i with the iBook G4 (Gigabyte BT adapter to start with, now with a D-Link DWB 120M USB BT adapter), and pairing the devices both ways kinda solved the trivia at the time, then it all began going downhill. Let me elaborate.

The first occurrences of something going wrong was when syncing the phone with the mac resulted in deletion of contacts I had just processed/entered in the moby...then this plague sort of moved onto the calendar entries. That's when I decided to perform a master reset of the handset in case something had gone terribly wrong during the firmware update process (handset was previously on R2L). Now when I came back after then reset (victorious I assumed at first) everything was syncing perfectly etc, no problems whatsoever, until I noticed that some of the contacts were not being synced properly into the iPod I also have in my possession. One thing led to the other, I exported all my contacts from AddressBook in vcards, did the same with my calendar entries and got rid of all iCal, iSync, AddressBook and SyncService occurrences both in my user path and some SyncService stuff in the Library path I believe. I then restarted the system, made sure that the Bluetooth preferences pane had no instances of either the phone or any other device, imported my contacts back into AddressBook via dragging and dropping the respective vcards and did the same with my iCal events, too. Next up was resetting the handset again, pairing with the mac, syncing and sort of trying to get along with the rest of my life until today...About a week after all this jazz, this is all coming back to me again in a slightly altered version though.

Below is an abstract of the error message I get trying to sync the K700 with the mac. Now, calendars seem to behave for the time being, it's just the AddressBook contacts that refuse to sync when the device contains the updated info / new entries. Kinda irritating if you ask me, this phone is giving me headaches, please help!

Conduit RTouris K700i generated an internal error NSInvalidArgumentException (*** -[NSCFDate firstName]: selector not recognized): can't get the sync mode.
Can't get sync mode for provider RTouris K700i, data class contacts\

I'm still trying to figure out if it's true what they say about revenge being a plate that's always served cold. I want my revenge, I need to get this stupid thing working so that I can move on with the rest of my bloody life. Loosing contacts all the time's cost me much already, wasn't this stuff supposed to be trouble free and easy to setup?

Could it be that I need to reflash the handset? Maybe the new firmware hasn't been properly installed in the handset? A member of the technical department in the store where I took the moby to update the firmware on the first place denied this could have anything to do with the problems I'm facing here and insisted that there is something wrong in the system I'm using.

Which gives?

P.S: I tried creating a new user and syncing all the devices again, still no go.

Your suggestions and comments appreciated.

Try resetting all the devices. I get this error every so often. Not sure why. Also, I am using E2Sycn, to sync with Entourage. Try the resetting and see if this solves your problems. It seems to work for me. I have a PB with built in BT, but the results still should be the same.

I did reset the devices after the first time I got this message, however a couple of syncs down the line I get the same error again...

How about reinstalling the firmware, anyone experienced corrupted installations that would lead to such behaviour?

Make sure that your phone is not set up to sync "all day" events. I had mucho errors until I unchecked this.

Calendar events sync fine, it's them addressbook contacts that give me grief currently...Not to mention that most of my calendars are 'all day events' - (namedays, anniversaries and the likes), still they don't seem to pose any threat to the sync process for the time being.

@RTouris,

Are you using iSync with Address book or are you using Entourage? There are several apps that help with this. What I did to the first time was to delete every address in my phone. I sync 3 phones and an iPod. MAKE a copy of your addresses. Now, once you delete them, reset the devices from iSync and it should put everything proper. Make sure things are set the way you want in Address book first before you perform the sync/reset.

iBook, X.2.8, T610 - Automated Xfer of files to fone with Applescript?
Python clues in BlueNotes? otherwise seems impossible.

Also, seeing inside the sys folders of T610, try building the "OBEXSample", app in "/developer/examples/Bluetooth/ObexSample" (assuming you've the DevSDK installed - don't we all?), and get folder contents rather than retreeving files by using obex get - and enter "/" - don't forget to set your packet size at 163204, so as not to stall the Xfer with packet breach.
This is the ONLY way in the entire world I seem to be able to VIEW the invisible files, and that's interlaced with hex garbage.
I'm just trying to replace the GiFs' with transparent ones to remove that bloody Vodafone Logo!!

Try it McGeeks!!!

thanx

Did not quite get what you are trying to say. It appears that you started somewhere in the middle to towards the end of what you are trying to say.

Hello everyone,
I bought my V600 (my first, but not last Sony Ericsson) based on the fact that it was on the iSync list. I have downloaded Phone Agent and hope to get it all set up this weekend. I never thought that I would find something that would offer me more than the limited options of iSync.
Thanks!
