Nah, they've even stated their strategy for the end of this year will be to focus on the ray and arc s. So you'll start to see ads featuring these phones as the run up to Christmas. I don;t think they'd bring out a dual core phone now because it would completely kill of the arc s, as they'll try to sell this as a powerful device...

I think that there is still a small possibility that
can announce something big this year.
They spoke about focusing advertising & christmas sales etc on Arc & Ray, but even if they have plans to run ad campaigns behind any newer phone that they announce, they won't speak out about those plans before the announcement.
So we really can't write off the possibility of it based on what they said before the product is launched.

There was an interview with Bert in todays newspaper. He was talking about the change from feature-phone to a smart-phone company. The big thing however was that in 2012 they plan to take their connection to Sony to a whole new level (2012 being the "Sony year"), making all their products linked together.
No talk about hardware at all which was strange, maybe they have given up on the hardware race.

thats no news - thats natural - without sonys eco system they won't be able to survive 2012 anyway
btw. didn't they announce early 2011, that this year was a sony year too ?
(i have been hearing this since years)

Did anyone else notice Play has come down to below £200 in most places in the past few days? Could this be to make space for Play2? or a new (bunch of) model(s)? or because iPhone 5 is due?
Kinda hope there is something pretty cool to come from SE. The gap between X10 and arc was too long and they should try and fill the gap between arc and next year's model with something better than Ray and Arc S. Or maybe they're skipping another development stepping stone to try and catch up with the hardware side (like last year when they skipped dohnuts for eclairs to catch up).

Welcome mate! Yeah, nobody designs like SE. I'm just waiting for that one phone, the kind that will be like the P800i when it was released. I'm talking about the kind of phone that says to all other manufacturers 'I mean business and I'm untouchable'.
