Okay guys after sifting through this forum with a fine comb and coming up with the same errors you all were getting updating your W800i firmware and getting the wrong camera driver version. I tried everything over and over again.
Here is what I did after running the update about 10 times.
I did a master reset.
-Set it to english language.
-I changed sim cards. (not sure if this is what helped doubt it, but it was an extra one i had lying around)
-I did the update without the Memory stick installed.
-I ran the update with the camera shutter OPEN

TRY WITH THE SHUTTER OPEN!
Maybe that will help you.


My suggestion is to everyone still having problems to try updating over and over again.
Hopefully this helps guys.

*The update still stinks for me because i have a USA version phone, the camera shutter noise is always on. The reason I performed this update was that i was hoping to get rid of this sound in the first place.
Thanks alot for all the advice on here. I think I popped a blood vessel trying to update this d*mn phone.(It makes a sound even in silent mode)

Nothing works. Shutter open, resets nothing.

Dont wanna try the DVT thing for fear that it might really mess my k750 up.

The only thing left is to try it with myself naked.

I let u know how that goes.

Well last night I broke down and bought a davinci credit and performed a finalization on my phone, now I can see french language, spanish language and english on my phone as well as the shutter noise is gone when in silent mode.
If you don't have the option of sending your phone in to SE. I suggest trying the davinciteam way.

You needed to perform a master reset to allow SEUS to update the phone. See my K750 W800 firmware overview page for more details.

I did perform a full master reset to do the SEUS update. I tried like 5 or 6 times. And no go. It just worked out of the blue when i did a reset, changed sims, and opened shutter.
Who knows if any of these variables affected my ability to update, all i know is that now it is updated.

For those of you who are having some problems after updating to R1N try to update it once more & then don't do master reset. I was having joystick bug & problem with bluetooth file transfer, I updated it again but this time without doing a master reset after update & now everything is working just fine.

I hear about master resets B4 and after and how needed they are to get things working properly....

I have updated two K750i yesterday to the R1N035 and not reset anything at all....

I asked SE support they say....

"Dear sir

Thank you for taking an interest on Sony-Ericsson Products.

In Reply to your question, we see no reason why a master reset should be applied to your mobile before or after a firmware update.
