The same as used on the P900. There is nothing on the flip.

Yeah, but on the P800,900,910, there is a flip because there are no other physical buttons on the phone.

What is the point of having phisical buttons on the front of the flip on the P950/100 only to reveal more physical butons on the phone when the flip is open.

Which begs the question of whether there is a flip which is covering a larger screen, or is there not a flip at all and the screen is smaller.

so if the keyboard is actually built into the phone
(which I'm sad about)
does that mean the screen is actually smaller?

not really, as it has a different resolution and they pushed the sreen upwards.
here are the screen specs from http://hermione.cogia.net/
Dimensions: 4.5 x 6.0 cm
(P910 is: 4.2 x 6.4 cm)

so a little wider and a little shorter but overall 27 cubic cm (p950) to 26.88 cubic cm (p910)

that's because the screen resolution is 240*320....

imho the design is good, i on't like treo650 because of the keyboard, it just doesn't look right for a phone but with this design you can use it as a "phone" more comfortably, i always liked this idea from 380 till p910, it doesn't look as flashy as other phone pdas out there...
oh and finally i can say that the p series size is near perfection, just look at this picture, and only 20mm....
i just hope it has wifi and then i'm sold

Check this out

The bottom post sayes that he has held the device, and this is exactly how it looks, with a qwerty keypad behind the flip. How pointless is that, 2 keypads, whats the point of the flip then?... they have just waisted valuble screen space. Dissapointed.

I think is for giving it a phone style and not a PDA, it's easy to use a numeric keyboard when you are using it as a phone (making calls), it's other PDAs lacks and PXXX had

If that were the case, why would SE abandon the near-perfect solution of the P910?

No, it's a stupid decision, which results in a phone I will never buy. I'd sooner go for a Nokia Communicator...

@Karel Jansens: I don't think the flip in P910 was a near-perfect solution, despite of it had a very reliabale construction, it was a litle larger when it was open and not too comfortable sometimes, that's why some people removed the flip from their Pxxx

And personally, i don't like Blokia Comunicaor, i think is a litlle bulky and doesn't compare to Pxxx series

The new P950 design and arrangement for the keypad probably makes the unit smaller and thiner and therefore more attractive. Most people don't like bulky devices. This is for the mass market not just us geeks - perhaps SE has a geeky devices in the works as well.
