In this test the guy said that the phone used have a capacitive touch screen and he is amazed by the video and pictures quality as for the walkman capability even if it's just a prototype

When you compared the Satio and the iPhone WRT gaming, the first thing that came to my mind was accelerometer based racing games (which is the only genre that I feel is enjoyable on a phone. Again, IMO) and nothing stops Satio from being better than the iPhone in this regard.

The screen stops the Satio from being better than the iPhone. Just think about it. With the iPhone, your thumbs at the corner of the screen can control everything at once - change gear with one thumb while you brake with the other, then accelerate while you swipe a finger across the screen to change your POV - none of that is possible with a resistive, non-multitouch screen. Even taking the few buttons of the Satio into account, they can only be mapped to a handful of fixed functions within a game, and most won't be ergonomically positioned for gaming, whereas the iPhone can have any combination of controls on screen and they're right in front of you.

It's entirely your own problem that you can only imagine racing games on a device like this, as you've admitted yourself. In reality there are literally thousands of games for the iPhone and iPod Touch spanning virtually every genre, and a huge proportion of them would be difficult if not impossible to play without a multitouch interface, or perhaps dedicated gaming controls which the Satio doesn't have either.

Agreed. I hate to admit it but agreed. Either way iPhone does not suit me. For the most basic reason most users don't have issue with. My reasons would sound mundane to most in their simplicity but its real to me.

Either way ... I'm hoping with either Tegra platform or even Arm A9 cortex we'll have TI OMAP4340 with hardware acceleration & Symbian^3 installed. Add to that using a BT Zeemote for gaming or even using the video camera's sensor for gesture gaming controls if its highly refined. Maybe another 5 yrs in the future to get refinement in check but ya never know.

Buttons are great for gaming ... but they don't offer the EXACT control & feedback to ALL users all the time. Touch screen for some reason does. Where it doesn't is perceptual acceptance of a flat surface where you don't FEEL feedback on your finger tips. IF you're a gamer to have lived since the launch of the Atari 2600 like me you'll KNOW many different controllers existed but many died and the console regardless of better specs just didn't survive because of the controller until NES/Super NES debuted. Then it was about the games and play factor. iPhone/iPod (mostly the latter builds on this paradigm shift from controllers to gameplay and game genre range).

On other hand, even if you have great hardware, if no one, or very few, is interested in publishing games for your platform (like happens now on ngage lol), you´re screwed any way

The satio will come with 5 games and the app store will contain around 90 more when it is launched.

I dont know how many are developing for Ngage, but considering that there are now well over +30 Ngage2 games and still counting its still looking pretty good IMO, and then theres also the Quake port games and some others that require graphics acceleration,im sure Satio will be well supported, theres still some very dedicated Symbian Freaks out there.

I talk to an iphone game developer just few moments ago and he told me that developing games on iphone is much easier than on any other platforms around no wonder why iphone is quickly eating mobile phone game platforms like ngage. i have just played with an iphone game and was impressed with the touchscreen gaming: something that nokia and SE have failed. only if SE have used capacitive or at least projective capacitive(supports multitouch finger and stylus) then theres a reason to say SE can pose a threat on iphone gaming.

30+? Impressive...not. Besides that...it´s seeing how devs like Gameloft, regarding the same game, release a crap version on ngage, while release a superb one on the iphone platform.
