@-alphaAFM

Congratulations on receiving it. As per the other question, is it direct from o2?

If yes, then;

Please advise on the firmware, any locks and branding, how is it working, any photos, any surprises, what type of customer are you and how did you get it when the rest of us are being given the run around in a big way, what phone number did you call, let us have it too!!!

I hope you can give us the relevant info.

Cheers

No,

mine was from onestopphoneshop and is not branded or locked.

the phone version is stil r4 but i am updating it as we speak.

Oh and by the way they made me run around aswell, for about ten days, first i was told it should have been with me on friday last week and then when it did not arrive they told me on monday, monday went and still no phone so i was told on wednesday, wdnesday went and they still had not send the phone, their excuse was a picking order problem but that cant be as i spoke to the manager there on thursday and complained and guess what, the phone is here today.

Guys, i would complain to them and threaten to leave if they refuse to send you the phone.

To be clear. Are you saying you didn't get the phone from O2, but you use it on the O2 network? Because, there isn't a problem getting the P990 on the O2 network, but there is a problem getting it on contract from O2, which is what this thread is about. I almost bought a P990 from CPW on Tuesday, but decided against it because the insurance was over £13 a month.

For anyone who does eventually get a O2 contact phone, I'd be interested to know if the phone is branded. Not just the usual O2 theme, which I already have on my P910, but whether O2 have changed the menus.

Oh and by the way i usually avoid buying the phones from the o2, vodafone, orange, t-mobile as they always seem to brand their phones, i had i bad experience with my p910i on t-mobile but i flashed it on generic at SE repair shop even why the gentelman there refused at first but did it anyway

Buying a P990 on O2 network is nothing new. The problem is buying the phone FROM O2.

My 2004 O2 P910 isn't branded. Although it did come with a removable O2 theme. If O2 have now started branding, I will not be buying through them again, even if I end up paying CPW for their extortionate insurance.
