They better make a comeback for the mechanical lens cover, or should they (all companies) wait for Apple to incorporate one on their iPhone 5 and call it an innovation before they follow and be called copycats?

It`s USB or HDMI port and we can use it for reference point and say there will be no lens cover but camera bulge at the back, cause overall thickness of the device looks below 9,3mm.

First ray of light - Google introduced New Google TV couple a days ago and Sony is the first to update with new version on their TVs. It is one of the points where Sony and Google can be very strong together.

Yes. Their portfolio is stronger than at this point last year when they'd not released 1 decent handset since the X10 in March. This year they had Arc, Play and Neo in March and have had a handful of reasonable mid-range handsets since. So long as whatever comes in Q1 is good (and all the rumblings are that it will be), their shouldn't be any issues.

I just hope Sony take the handset industry seriously and don't screw it up, but again, I can't see anything going too far wrong. Handsets are going to be the centre of everybody's world in 5-10 years (as opposed to well loved toys of geeks like it is now).

I'm hoping their new devices won't be made of glossy plastic like Vivaz. I've kept mine 90% of the time in a leather case and it still has some small scratches at the back. Plus that glossy plastic really attracts fingerprints. It'd be cool if their more expensive devices are made of metal for example, while the cheaper ones are made of matte plastic (not glossy).

It's likely that Sony will want to put it's own style and feel to the new devices and even go as far as to want to differentiate itself completely from the Xperias. I'm not a great fan of the current materials that they use - except the screens, which I think are very durable.
