If u take care of the joystick, it can last years. I always prefered to use the keypad instead of it.

Any ideas about what's going on with my R380s? It refuses to simply connect through DRS-10. There are the same problems with synchronization. I don't want to bring it to the SP.

Original Ericsson DRS-10/ RS-232 Serial Data Cable
AT-commands won't work with this cable. You'd need an EMMA-dongle or a serial unlock cable for use with AT-commands and hyperterminal.
Syncronization should work with DRS-10 but you can't use the 'normal' sync-SW which works with T39, R520 etc. There's a special Sync-SW for R380s/e handsets.
Communication Suite (LZY 213 584) for R380s/sc/e

@tigerente
what is the reason why the AT commands cannot invoked, via BT for instance, against a T68, once it has been configured as an external modem in a PC? The provider connection and communication should work via AT commands too, isn't it?
Thanks.
Cheers.

If you connect BT or IrdA as modem to OC AT-commands should work as fine as a serial datacable connection.
Using the built-in modem in the phone
The built-in modem can be accessed via Bluetooth™ wireless technology, Infrared, USB cable or RS232 cable connection.
Standards
IrDA™ DATA with secondary implementation of IrLAP 1.0 and IrDA-Ultra, IRMC 1.1., ETSI 07.05, 07.07 and 07.10.
Data rates (up to)
• 115,200 bits/s between phone and IrDA device (for example, PC, another phone).
• 9,600/14,400 bits/s for GSM data communication, no compression. 57,600 bits/s for GSM data communication with V.42bis compression.
• 28,800 bits/s (receiving data) using HSCSD, no compression. 115,200 bits/s (receiving data) using HSCSD with V.42bis compression.
• 40,200 bits/s (receiving data)/13,400 bits/s (transmitting data) using GPRS.
• 9,600/14,400 bits/s in fax communication.
AT modem V.25ter command set supported.
Power consumption
Slightly increased compared to voice call depending on type of communication.
Communications programs
Please refer to the User Guide for instructions on the installation and use of the Sony Ericsson built-in modem software drivers.
Configuring third-party communications programs
If you want to use a communications program which does not include the Sony Ericsson built-in modem inthe list of supported hardware, the following options are suggested:
Configure for V.25ter
The built-in modem supports the V.25ter command set. If your communications program can generate and support a V.25ter command, the built-in modem does not require the installation of a specific driver.
Locate a mobile phone modem driver
A Mobile Phone Modem driver for the communications program may be available on either the Sony Ericsson disk supplied with the phone or from one of the online services, for example the global support
pages on
http://www.sonyericsson.com
Configure the data communications program manually
To configure your data communications program manually:
1. Select a generic mobile phone modem driver from the list of available mobile phone modem drivers.
2. Set the Init string to AT&F
3. Set the optional setup string to Asynchronous RLP:
AT+CBST=0,0,1

@tigerente
Thanks a lot! Your knowledge is beyond infinite.
I just hope my wife will accept to 'leave me' alone for a couple of weeks and take my daughter and the newborn to the mountain side...
It could be that I'll have the time to check what to do with the AT commands set you have posted!
It looks petty cool!
Cheers.

@elsapo Try to dl T68 AT DevGuide from the link @Tigerente has posted earlier. There are all commands and their params in that book.
@Tiger Some questions to the guru
1) Why R380e/s(c) works with serial cable not so as T28^ does?
2) I'm using Ericsson Desktop (nice program, do you know it?) to have access to the whole phone features and its AT Terminal works with my T39/T68i/R320 very good while it refuses to connect to a R380. Do you know the commands that invoke the phone and begin a synchronization(i mean: do you know what commands R380 CommSuite sends to the phone to begin the synchronization sequence?)?
3) What gives me EMMA cable(you mean T28 Terminator or not?)?
4) If i can't connect it through the DRS-10, how can i use it as a modem?
Thanks.
