Has anybody got the apple bluetooth headset at all? I'm looking to get one but i've never used one before, being the apple freak that i am i'm tempted by there one. This may sound rather dense but can you also get a txt alert through it other than just phone calls? I'm never able to hear them come through on full volume unless i have the headphones in when listening to music. If anyone could answer i'd appreciate it. Not long to go now masseur, hopefully this will convert you.

Is there is a set application to enable use of music/mps as the ringtone on a 1.1.2 iphone? Any suggestions?

I've taken to encoding my custom ringtones as AAC and then changing the file ext to .m4r. iTunes then recognises them as ringtones and puts them in the ringtones section.

picked up my iPhone at lunch time and so far so good except while settings it up I had a phone call and I could hardly hear the caller (my wife).
I got her shouting and screaming her lungs out down the phone before I realised the protective platic was covering the earpiece
mind you, she was not amused as she was sitting in the car outside my daughters school with lots of parents looking at her (bit of a jerry mcguire moment by the sounds of it!)

No way i did exactly the same thing when i got mine, glad to know i wasn't the only one. Hope you enjoy it the interface is simply beautiful and safari is a dream, very efficient. Hopefully with future updates it will get better and better as i do miss certain things but it isn't that much of a big deal yet.
One thing i was wondering is there any chance to somehow transfer txt messages to my mac? I know i can keep them on the phone but some are private and i'd rather not have to delete them. Would be nice if you could sync them back and forth somehow like with music and pictures.

For the SMS backup, you can try mobilesyncbrowser or iphonedrive.
I read on a mobile phone forensic forum that an unlisted update within firmware v.1.1.3 is the ability to store ALOT more SMS messages than the previous 1000(ish) limit.

Thanks does the handset have to be jailbroken to use those though? As i'd rather not tamper with it.

OK. I'm going to do it. Gonna sell my Vario III and buy an iPhone. BUT i will need some help to unlock it in order to run my tmobile sim on it... and be able to get the net on it too!
I'm not in the slightest but IT literate so will need an absolute idiots guide... or alternatively, a very nice person in London prepared to help me?
Thanks
