At the end of the day we will always get some who will try and spoil things for others no matter what,just the sort of thing that happens with open forums such as this..but i agree with the last two statements things are defenietly improving.

Its cocky stuck up idiots that ruin it for people.

People trying to be something that theyre not.

People seeing themselves as "important".

Not naming any names.

@tranquil

Not that I necessarily disagree with your assesment, but I did notice how the onus is placed upon the member with no consideration of the forum itself. As much as I would agree that the perspective of a member is important, to completely disregard the role of the forum itself doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Category four is of particular interest; is it necessarily the case that it is the member who has a bad attitude and thus sees the forum as being rubbish? It seems perfectly valid to also consider that there may be many members of a forum who still want to participate in said forum, but feel that they can't because the forum has taken a turn for the worse.

@scotsboyuk

I see your point, and agree, but what I mean is that it goes both ways; A forum that has gone astray can be saved by members dedicated to it just as much as mambers can ruin a perfectly good forum.

Good points from the both of you!

@Scotty. On your last point, is that a situation at where you see yourself teetering on?

I also think that on Esato, a new wave of members appears each time a new handset appears so that there is a constant influx of new talent with each new release.

This is when I think the older members play a valuable role in impressing on the newer members the feel of Esato. That helps keep the flame alive

why would i be that person? i dont see myself as important!!!

scots, masseur, vlamm, boba, theyre the real ones that make this place a good place to be. im just here for the ride, but if all you had were sane nice people then this forum would be pretty boring wouldnt it.

Well thats good to know....

I actually agree with you there,the members you mentioned and people like meths,batesie,djcreamz,JN,and a few other regulars do indeed make esato a good place to be,which is why im here as some of them have become good friends and why i have made esato my home..and i agree again that the variety of members here sane and otherwise make things so much more interesting.

In a word, no; I have gone past that stage. As you will no doubt know I have posted long and hard on what I think is wrong with Esato and what should be done to change it, but I no longer feel the need to create such threads, for different reasons.

I don't actually see myself as being a regular member here anymore; I don't post very much anymore, I don't really keep up with what is happening on Esato and I no longer feel the connection I once did; a lot of the people I knew, and was friends with, have either long since gone or visit very infrequently. The Esato that I knew is long gone; I don't really have any great connection to the Esato of the present.
