@HotXRock, I found only one that's not from ebay.
It's an expensive one, but beautifull:

I hope, soon there are more, (less expensive) silicones on the market.

Maybe we have first lots with some test covering layers? And the others have normal phones? Anyway, I don't see any other way to explain this phenomenon. Maybe I may change my keyboard at the Service Center, if I'm right with my assumption?

You can always try to get the keypad changed in a SE servicepoint.
Here in Holland they are very helpfull.

Just by way of clarification, my 'key peel' is nothing to do with additional characters on the keys as some previous posters have suggested, but seems to be some plastic coating thay is on each of the keypad keys which is peeling off and making a right mess and looking most unsightly

yep, that's exactly how it started here too and it just gets worse every day, with little pieces coming off on your finger when you press the keys. O2 have agreed to send me a new phone as soon as they have some more in stock

Will SE ever learn! There is always something wrong with their phones where they have skimped on something and the quality is dire!
I bet it wont be long before third party keypads are available for it!

I'm worried the same will happen to mine now! Problem is that I bought my (Vodafone branded) K800i from someone on eBay, so if the keypad does begin to peel what can I do? I doubt Vodafone will take it back!
And how come there are no K800i keypads available on cnn.cn etc? I wouldn't mind changing my Vodafone keypad with the green/red telephone icons anyway!
