Neither O2 Uxbridge nor O2 Watford nor O2 Ealing have had it in stock, they are all expecting it by the end of the month. Which O2 store have you seen it?

Ok, sorry was wrong info I gave with regards to the o2 shop having stock. I went in their, saw the dummy phone on display so I assumed it was in stock, who wouldn't?
But shop was very busy so left. When I returned later on and asked if they have 1 the sales guy said not for another week or 2.
Went into CPW afterwards (went in earlier but again, was very busy and only had 2 staff working) and I would of got on o2 if I had my PAC code, didn't realise orange won't tell you it over the phone, so will have to wait till I get it through the post, 2 or 3 working days. So I will get it from CPW when I get my code.

Just went to the CPW in central London, and it appears to be in stock aswell. It was too busy to ask questions - why the f**k do they have so few staff in their stores - but the guy did say it was 'MINIMAL' branding on 02 and UNLOCKED

I sent them a "semi-snotty" email and they replied as follows:-
"I am sorry but I am unable to tell you the reason why the Sony Ericsson P990i has been delayed.
The Sony Ericsson P990i will be launched on 23 October 2006. "
Bet that'll change!
I think e2.save.com as suggested by eskimo could be the best bet.

Bad thing is, that there really isn't a viable competitor out there - otherwise they wouldn't sell many P990i's... :-/

I think you've hit the nail on the head there mate. Give me a viable option at the right price and I'd take it. Frankly, the TyTn doesnt look good enough

If Nokia were to announce a Communicator successor with faster CPU and touch-screen, I'd probably go for that. Sadly I miss the "just works" aspect of my previous P800. The 9500 wasn't as responsive, and I really missed the touch screen. XDA Exec wasn't too bad; but in the long run it just didn't cut it - became dog slow when it was filled with mail, contacts, calendar entries, etc etc...
Why can't someone release a souped up Psion Revo!?!

Interestingly the P990i is no longer on the coming soon page on the O2 website. Either release is imminent or it has been scrapped or it is already out.
