I think i-phone will have to compete with more new models from SE and other manufactures as i-phone is set to release in june

I fully understand that you prefer M600 over P990, that's why SE released two phones instead of one, but your points against P990 have no sense, lifting standby possibility to the sky and presenting superb wifi feature and handy camera as nothing.
It is as I now say M600 is a piece of crap because it has no wifi and camera, that would be hight of my stupidity and a real insult to so many satisfied M600 users.

again i'm talking about implementation of software NOT hardware.. you guys are so blind and obsessed with protecting se and it's precious p990i..every thread in this forum is talking about why the p990i doesn't do this or bugs of this and that... sure you can call them all noobs if you want... you can call me a noob too.. doesn't bother me.. stay happy living in the little se UIQ box..
and if you think the wifi capability on the p990i is superb...it's a let down.... i'm sorry if you compare it to a NOKIA.. god forbid did i just mention nokia??
the s60 series wifi implementation and browser. easily surpasses in software and hardware
the browser (which happens to USE a little bit of safari) is a lot better then the p990i in actual usage.... and se also left out the G.
but i still have hope in the UIQ and SE.. i don't want apple to rule the day i just want them to be a player.. because they bring healthy competition to the industry...
the main reason SE fan's love se so much is cause of their UI... and it seems a lot of esatoians are forgetting about that...

I didn't hear yet that wifi or camera can work without software.
I would rather say that you guys ( those angry at se) are so blind and obsessed with attacking mercilessly se and P990. you can call me and other satisfied users a noob, doesn't bother me..stay happy living in your little 'my opinion is all that matters' box...
All prize to nokia but for me P990 is the most satisfying all in one device and sure I consider it much better as it is understandable that nokia users consider the same for their phone,who can be right.
In this thread I can see a post that goes something like iphone sucks and P990 rules. Is it also not stupid. How can one ever have any normal exchange of opinion (conversation) with people with attitude like that and it looks you belong to that category.

i'm not bitter at se at all... i'm disappointed with the p990i and to a lesser extent UIQ.... i'm still using my w810, k790a and m600i.. and don't even plan on buying an iphone ... (probably can't even if i wanted to..) i will however be getting the n95...in the next few weeks i hope..
my point is and has always been.. the apple OS/UI looks very promising on paper/demo.. and seems to present itself in a manner that UIQ only dreams of being.....i think that one should always test products to find out what their true capabilities are and find the faults in the devices they own... s60 has flaws, apple os will have flaws too.. i'm just more annoyed at UIQ's flaws right now... no issues with se's main line up.. that UI is brilllant

The P990 won't be killed off by the iPhone. The discussion is rediculous but what the heck. P990 was rushed but then it had to, and the biggest problem was UIQ3. Apple only rushed the announcement to stop it from leaking. But then that's not the point.
Most rumors say the P series is dead and is to be replaced by the M series. And by the time the iPhone reaches most of us, there probably already be a M600 successor, not to mention one for the W950 too. And since they are probably already in developement then maybe the iPhone won't really compete. Worse case scenarion they'll have to up the specs a little in memory and such. They also have a while to work on improving the UI. The iPhone will probably push comanies to put more into the UI and making it better. This might also be the death of small players in the mobile market. One thing for sure every mobile company will be wanting to beef up its UI. We'll probably see a lot of borrowed ideas but touchscreen UI is a little too much for a phone. For an iPod no, but a phone it's just not right for a mainstream phone. Most keypads are good enough for one hand usage, and probably one thumb too, I'd hate to try to navigate through the phone with just my thumb, my index finger is probably better for conversing the whole screen. Maybe we'll see an ihold, that props the phone on your stomach so you can use only one hand

Agree with you on that. God I like competition in this area so much, it speed up release of better and better products. For example N95 will hopefully show all it's capabilities so it will be good to see se reply. Actually in my symbian there is a thread about P1000 (or better to say M600 successor).
