None of which changes the fact that VW is stylistically emulating Honda and Toyota, while Audi is aping Subaru.

And in the last few years here, US makes have trounced VW and Audi in quality, reliability, and service satisfaction.

Even if Ferdinand Piech was your grandfather you wouldn't get one. They basically took a V12 engine that you'd probably get in the Phaeton and squeezed it into the Golf 5
