well however it does sound abit muffled when i used teh stock acoustics but now it sounds pretty clear to me well not sure if it does to you though... anyway whats so bad about the in ear headphones, they're good and more comfortable than those earphoens too.

@QVGA
I personally prefer the over-the-ear type. Expensive if you want quality but they are the most balanced and comfortable IMO.
Expect, they're bulky and don't isolate sound as well as the in ear phones.

i agree with QVGA that's what i'm using ATM, though the sound is better when using a headphone that cover the ears entirely imho

im looking into buying the w950i.
i've read almost all the reviews on the net about the w950i and so far they have been saying good things about it, the best walkman music phone atm.
reviews on the walkman phones are however mostly total crap, most/all reviews so far gave very high ratings on the walkman series. all are amatuers of music as they did not even mention the hissing, distortion and crackling that is obviously present in most of the series. At hearing the word "walkman" they are fooled in giving it a high review.
can i view the 'what hi-fi' review online or does anyone have a link to the reviews of the w950 and the new samsung? im very interested in what they got to say as all mobile reviews i read so far are total crap when it comes to reviewing music.
Does anyone have any comments on this review? (w950i vs ipod vs n91)
The tests was conducted by several sound specialists of the company TMaudio and with several headsets. Turns out audio quality of the w950i and n91 is the same and the ipod coming LAST.

Forget sony ericsson walkman phones for sound quality. Try out the Nokia n73 music edition or the Nokia n95. Very very good sound quality
......I'm an audiophile.......

Most of you guys here seem not having a real W-series phone in your possession. I agree that w800 has not very good sound output, but if you will take w950 - then you will fly away with sound output, especially with better headphones than supplied with it.
w800 has poor output!?
Obviously you have been listning to a nokia fanboy, and have never had the phone!

and i suppose you know more than the reviewer? which happens to be well reputed
You cant trust every reviewer for your information.
Okay, then the n85 is also worth 1 out of 5, cause a big danish reviewer tested the phone, it that also true, then?
You havent even tried one walkman phone so how can you say that the sound quality aint good? Only one nokia phone is as good as them, the n91, and it very huge
