@p900lover
if battery life is a concern, im not sure about Macs, but i do know the Vaios have good battery life. My brothers gf just got one, pink one its battery life is great, and is rated at 5200mah. I almost cried when i found out considering my Toshiba is only 4000mah, and both batteries are 6 cell.

lol. Right, so that's the performance if you actually use the computer, yeah?

I've never thought of this sort of thing that much.. because the last laptop I had was an amd socket A, with a graphics card of the kind that didn't need it's own power- supply. So if I steered clear of the Office- tools and used a proper text- editor instead, took care to set a time- out on the wifi, and didn't play too many games.. or constantly recompiled source- code or something of that sort - the battery would last a couple of days, at least. (I.e, it would last a work- day of moderate to heavy use, without changing the battery. Which I thought was a general demand in the market..)

Well battery life is important but not that much as ill be near a plug socket at uni. The only thing i ask is 3/4 hours of usage, so i can watch a film on the train/plane and things like that.

hi, just reading along here. if you need battery power, isn't there a power adapter with car/airplane plug? I never personally own a laptop so I don't really know. my bro-in-law's computer is always plugged and sitting on his comp. table and never moved anywhere since he first got it

in reference to the topic, here's what I thought. get a PC if you'll be playing a lot of games later on (there are mac games out there but popular titles rarely made for mac computers). get a mac if really sure that you won't be using the computer for playing those popular title games ..I was thinking of getting a mac, probably the laptop version of it, because I really dislikes windows vista. too many pop-up windows even just trying to go to the control panel from desktop! (my bro-in-law's laptop just got upgraded).

good luck and may you be happy with whatever your choice would be!

Well personally I'm a pc user too and I'd go for a Toshiba or sony, but I would try a Mac. Yes for the first month you'll find it different but it will probably be worth the wait
