And why is it that neither ATT or Tmobile carry many, if any (the case with Tmobile) Sony Ericsson phones?... Why does ATT, the largest provider in the US, only carry a few Sony Ericsson phones at subsidized prices?... Why are those phones also only low to mid-end phones?.... What is it that would prompt this lack of confidence in particular brand like Sony Ericsson from carriers like Tmobile or ATT?.....

That always happen to me. while inquiring about a specific service at a local "Dumb" telecom wireless center like how to connect SE phone as modem to a PC, they don't even know a single damn about it. i hope next time, they hire more knowledgable people, not like those dumb-asses.

here comes those abusive peoples from cellphone shops that overexaggerates some infos about phones and make lies against SE phones.
you're right about that! one salesman even said that k600i has a memory stick!

Oh, yeah. That's totally belevable. Don't forget that the people that sell the phones are not experts, they're just sales people. Many of them know nothing about phones and the way they work. Combine that with the generally low level of knowledge of the general population, an you've got a dangerous combination.
That's also part of the reason why SE doesn't sell very well. However that's entirely operator's fault. But I don't see that changing anytime soon. It's going to be years before the US catches up to Europe and Japan in mobile technology.

The operators are the main reason why Americans are behind in the cell phone area. I recently went to the Dadeland mall in Miami and showed my P990i to a Tmobile dealer and the guy did not know whether it was a phone or a remote control. So if he does not know I certainly don't expect Americans to know either. People only see the phones that the operators display.
What makes me laugh all the more is that I bought my p990 in the Caribbean and they refer to the Caribbean as third world.

Just make sure Bush dosnt here you say that. You dont want him to blow up the Caribbean!
