@k850 successor
I never said the N95 didn't have any problems and some had loose sliders or screens and the Camera needed improvements i have never said any different. But just how quickly did Nokia both release new firmware and rectify the manufacturing problems and fixed the quality issues.
I admit some seem to have got good K850's with no problems but far too many have problems for a Flagship device and the Firmware has yet to be released and i can't fix build issues either. Just read what your fellow SE fans are saying and what number phone there on and some have even said they have had enough and are very disappointed. The reason Nokia users don't worry is they know there will be new firmware quickly and that it will resolve these type of bugs. Where as of sorry but SE's firmware support has been some what lacking even it getting a Vista PC Suite.
How ever you want to look at it this is not the way to treat your users that pay premium prices for a flag ship product or take out contracts for it and it fails to deliver. We are not talking annoying little bugs read what some people are saying and yes again the N95 had some now where near as bad as some have experienced with K850 though, hardware failures, crashing Java and no longer having access to messages or apps.
I am getting a N95 8GB so will see have that fares against the W960 when that arrives. As i just discovered there is a lot more to he N95 8GB then just the larger screen and Ram but also it is the first Symbian to give Demand Paging which means even greater speed of the OS and apps but also more RAM efficient. The N85 8GB boots to ready in 22 seconds compared to N95 35 seconds, sounds good to me.

Dont know if anyone cares really but I have been testing the photo settings last night and found the best pics for me came out on ISO400 with Red Eye reduction Flash. I didnt get one dark picture either. If I use normal flash then 40% were dark (on ISO400 and about 20% on ISO 200 and 100). Im always going to use ISO400 and red eye reduction flash at night now.
Maybe someone else could test the same to confirm if I just got lucky? (I did ensure I was "correct" with holding the phone.

What really astounds me is how these companies are not scrambling to address reliability issues in the wake of the iphone. Granted its sales are not of the same caliber, mostly due to the price point, but after the lay consumer buys an iphone and has a product that is intuitive and supremely stable, how could they ever go to a SE or a Nokia that has firmware issues out of the gate and brickability constantly hanging around its head.
The days of cellphone companies selling hollow features without backbone realiability is over.
PC makes found out the hard way as they skimped on motherboards and RAM while they allowed Apple to swoop in and steal all of those frustrated customers.
SE and Nokia better get their act together, or they will simply be the old dinosaurs in the room.

doubt it considering the amount of k850i's sold compared to iphones.....i went to CPW the day it was released and there was 1 other person in the store but me....looking at PAYG phones, which is kinda surprising considering the hype with the iPhone....yet when i asked about k850i they had been sold out for a while

Who cares if they are sold out? The point is that they are buggy as hell and there are still no new updates for it yet.

@A L 3 X
My experience was the same at the weekend. Two different CPWs said the iPhone launch had been a flop (in terms of what had been expected). Both still had stock, and they weren't busy with iPhone customers. Of course, this doesn't mean it'll be a flop.

I had the problem with the flash not working correctly and getting black photos.
I tried turning off the AF light in the cameras settings, and it now works fine just like my k800i. done about 10 test shots, 100% success.
give it a try let me know how you get on.
