You can't even put mp3's as ringtones on the "advanced technological marvel that is the iPhone".
And no, don't tell me about the iTunes way... that sucks even more.

@Nightblade
This thread is to discuss the iPhone in Europe, and why people consider it to be a 'looser' (sic). It is not an "I love SE' thread, nor is it an "I love iPhone" thread. I was simply describing my satisfaction with the user experience when using an iPhone - was there really a need for you to come in here and troll? Maybe you'd be better in one of the thousands of 'SE Vs Nokia" threads this place is plagued with.
If you had ever used an iPhone properly, you would know that you cannot compare the experience of using Mail on an iPhone to the mail app on a k810. Can you pinch the k810's tiny (in comparison to the iPhone) screen to zoom in to your mail? I don't remember being able to. I'm sure your k810 shows a symbol on your standby screen indicating how many new emails you've got, doesn't it? Oh wait, no it doesn't. The experience of the two phones are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. The k810 takes better pictures without a doubt, but given the choice of showing my previously-taken photos on a 240x320 screen or a 320x480 screen, I know which would impress more. But you can zoom into your photos! Yes! Simply press the volume button and then wait a couple of seconds for the photo to zoom in! Hang on, I'd rather just pinch the photo at the part I'd like to zoom in on, and zoom in instantly.
Maybe we should get this thread back on topic!

My iPhone has MP3 ringtones on it, and I didn't use iTunes.
Who in this thread has described the iPhone as an 'advanced technological marvel'? Oh wait, that was you.

So do you want to go into any more detail on that? AFAIK there's no push mail support built in, and Apple aren't offering any solutions yet - so what are you using? Does it support Exchange or Blackberry or something else? Is it free?

Yeah sure. Well what I do is go into my e-mail settings, choose my account, go to advanced and there is a section that says 'Use push mail' and I turn this on, This turns on push e-mail. Clever really. Yes it's free, because it's just a setting on my iPhone.

You can set it up for push email, there are various guides online.
Am i the only one bored of the bashing of the iPhone? By the same people who talk about manufacturers making and iPhone-killer? What would be the point of making an iPhone-killer if its so rubbish. And how many of these people have used the iPhone (and not just in a shop)? Granted its expensive, but for me the line rental is cheap, better than getting ripped off by Orange anyway.

You're the one who's flaming. This is a thread about why the iPhone is a loser in Europe, right? And I am giving examples of why it really is a loser.
EU people are smart about their tech.

Ah - it has IMAP idle support, I didn't know that. That's nice, but it's limited -and no substitute for full exchange support.

Oh please. We're talking about what is probably the most hyped up gadget this century. If you want to be spoon fed gushing, non-critical, wide-eyed wonderment of the iPhone then go read Stuff magazine, or some other expert reviewer in the Radio Times or something. If, on the other hand, you're open to the possibility that the iPhone isn't jesus, then you can read what real people who use mobiles think on forums like this.
By the same people who talk about manufacturers making and iPhone-killer? What would be the point of making an iPhone-killer if its so rubbish.
Nobody's talking about an iphone killer here, for the very reason you've identified - it doesn't need killing.
IME the only people using the term "iphone killer" are lame reviewers who are so swept away by the hype themselves, they now see everything in terms of "pre-iphone", "post-iphone", and the like. "Iphone killer" is usually applied in a sneering way to any phone that dares to have any passing similarity to the Iphone, but which is blatantly no competition to it at all.
And how many of these people have used the iPhone (and not just in a shop)? Granted its expensive, but for me the line rental is cheap, better than getting ripped off by Orange anyway.
What a ridiculous argument - what are we supposed to do, go buy an iphone before we're allowed to comment? Forget that! Guess what, I've read reviews, I've read comments, I've read the spec sheet, and yes - I've tried it out in the shop, something I don't often do at all, merely to see if the UI really was good enough to justify the rest of it. And you know what? I've formed an opinion! It's not particularly complimentary, but I'm afraid it is still valid!
