it's all coz of
all thier high-end are too expensive
yes we won't a high-end mobile but not expensive as K850 when it came out to market it had the same price with n95 with less specs
i think they have to cut thier prieces first

the physical looks(isn't it obvious?) and the whole Xperia software package (XMB, Media player, Fish tank, Calendar etc. )

I was merely asking,if he was offered some nokia or lg or even Chinese mobile wrapped in a SE casing,as he put it,How can SE be proud of it...
Of course unless he mean the marketing.

in fact when i am at china reading one of their local china magazine...they have just setup another new office at beijing for design which you can see a big sonyericsson sign board when you head to beijing capital airport.
you might claim beijing can be well china meaning cheap but to setup things at Beijing isn't since it is the capital.
cutting the headcount don't mean cut the RnD personnel. SE still got other department tht might be too big for the organization.
also sometimes I doubt high end product really can be the solution. what the need is something really appeal to market...remember their saviour in 2003 is T610...it is not a high end phone.
2004 is K700 also not a high end product...yes within SE might be but in the market nope.
2005 is K750 and W800 ..both none high end as well.
the key still lay on how they market and give a good feature rich content
or...how they execute their new direction

The G705 is a breath of fresh air IMO and the G502 has arrived here in NZ at a release price of $299 which is simply a stunning price, and I can't understand why they didn't put Wifi in it considering the internet focus it has and bump the price up a little. Contrast that with the V640i release price of $399 and $499 for the V630i (K618) and K610.
I hope this move towards higher spec phones will mean more mid-range phones with Wifi because the N-series is overdue for some decent competition IMO. Every G-series phone should include Wifi as standard.

G705 is not the succesor of G700. The name should be G505. But SE can't release nothing more than G900. Because they will not move to Symbian 9.5.

I think G700 is more for bussiness people. Or the P1 sometimes.. P1 is outdated though... They also have the G700 bussiness edition. A phone that is meant for bussiness. I think the G705 is more like a phone for average users (plus some extra connectivity).

Slow? This depends more on the hardware design (memory / processor) then the OS. WM is not particularly slow. The 64MB RAM ipaq HW6900 isn't slow.
Unstable? In and of itself, not at all. Far more stable than s60 imho. Even with third party apps installed, if you choose wisely, it's stable. Because of that "stimulating third part developers " that you mention, you have more than enough choice of quality third party apps and can just ignore the crap. Often on symbian systems there may be one or two apps available for a specific function, and if neither is quite right then it's just tough luck.
Give me WM anyday. You can't divorce MS support of third party developers from the OS itself. This goes hand in hand with the strength of WM. Sure, s60 may be just as flexible if it had such broad support, but the reality is it doesn't have that level of support. It's not Microsoft's job to stimulate s60 development - that's primarily Nokia's job and given they have more marketshare than WM it's obvious they just prefer to rest on their laurels. That's to the loss of s60 users.
s60 is losing marketshare to RIM and WM. The trend is likely to continue, with a proliferation of WM formfactors to suit most users.
