Yeah that policeman will be called a hero as he was trying to save others. Even the Prime Minister and The Queen have paid tribute to him. Sky News showed a street where the water had subsided and some fish were jumping in the road

They will have an awful Christmas:-( They say in 36 hours 12.4inches of rain fell

thats alot

Yes indeed, they won't have a very nice Christmas or new year. Its the worst rainfall in British recorded history. They showed some kids playing in the water splashing each other on the street. My thoughts were do them kids know what they are playing in? Raw sewage is in that

That's what kids are about. They always find a way to play with anything at any circomstances. Just think of kids playing soldier, in a warzone. But you are really getting the full load of heavenly tears on your heads.

Yes the lake district is the wettest place in England but this event is once in every 1,000 years with that much rain

Well i am disgusted. Gordon Bennet sorry Gordon Bloody Brown our so called leader Prime Minister can spend billions on a war in Afghanistan and Iraq but what does he give to help the flooded town in Cumbria. One million pounds. Its pathetic. Thats just a drop in the ocean and will hardly help anyone. It seems this government have no idea how to look after its own people. I also just heard in Australia there are bush fires again because of dry conditions and lightning storms

Mother nature eh what can you do.

More wind and rain on the way tonight and this week. Its really cold and windy here now by me very strong. And all 1,800 bridges have to be inspected due to 2 already collapsed where the policeman died. One is already about to fall into the river. Some people in the town have to make what would be a 20 minute trip to work a detour because of collapsed bridge which means it adds 90 minutes to their journey. Frustrating
