If SE came up with a high-end (like X10) A200 platform with 3.5mm and usb charger, touch screen and every other nice features available I think SE will fly.

What's going on? The Elm is currently £199 in Carphonewarehouse on all other networks except Vodafone which will have branding even if sold @ Carphone. On Vodafone it's £129 but a silver version
though I guess soon it can be debranded

Elm is just an Upgraded Version of c901, every features that are missing in c901 have been added to Elm, refined and improved
well, everything that we need on a Mid-End phone, Elm has it, and the price is right too, we can really compare it on Cyber-shot phones but overall Elm has the upper hand almost in every features like;
>VGA Recording
>HD Voice
>GPS
>Wi-Fi
>Noise cancellation with dedicated microphone
>Splash Resistant
>Sense-Me
>Micro SD
>Excellent Audio Quality
>Large Internal Memory 280mb
I wish that they did this during the Era of Cyber-Shot phones, Solid Features at a Cheaper price

I agree. Elm and Hazel are indeed very good phones in this price range. People who disregard them because of the GreenHeart initiative or not being touch screen or similar miss the whole point, the features. They are very capable and bit more environmentally friendly.
In any database, try and filter phones with 3G, Wi-Fi and *non touch screen*; you will have, perhaps, around 30-40 phones (not to mention that they also have GPS not found so often in this price range, at least until very recently, but Wi-Fi is even more rare so with that filter, you'll probably only find GPS phones). Add a 5 MP camera, or more, (and a very good 5 MP in this case), now we have around a dozen 3G, Wi-Fi, 5MP non touch screen phones to choose among.
Somewhat simplified, the decision is then between more expensive, high end Nokia phones with often shorter stand by time or newer SE feature phones with less options but better standby time (Nokia has new phones as well with the above features, but they are mostly touch screens, however not the E-series). The main advantage for the Nokia phones with the abovementioned features are 3.5mm plug, OVI maps and smart phone OS with things like office document readers. But apart from that, not much.
Elm and Hazel are also among the cheapest DLNA certified phones. And as mentioned HD Voice ready, (I wish we could get AMR-WB after all the talk about it. After all, some of us do use the phones for calls.
) If people weren’t so much into all this with touch screens, these two would sell like hot cookies.
And maybe they will.
