@frontman - certain programes like MiniGPS can be set up to sound alarms when you reach a certain cell - for example you can set an alarm to go off when you're on the train and you reach a certain cell - stops you sleeping through your stop! Or, you could set it up to put your phone into a certain profile (like silent) when you reach a cell that's used at work.
@topaz - thanks for the info!

Just thought I'd like to add a little info here as to why ID's may be a bit messed up.
Most cells have more than one sector to them and there is a need for engineers to identify them when fault fixing etc. All CSR's (Cell Site References) are 6 digits long. If we take for example CSR 002338 (as its the nearest to me now) it will come up on my phone as CI (Cell ID) 32338. This is because I am currently using sector 3 of CSR 002338. You could wander around and pick up CI 12338 and 22338 also and if you didnt know about the sectors etc then you may think your picking up 3 different cells!
There becomes a problem when the CSR is something like 010937 (extra digit in the CSR). It would come up on your phone as CI 17553 for example. So you may think that your on sector 1 of CSR 007553, but your not.
To confuse you even further, if you were on sector 1 of CSR 007553 then it would show up as CI 17553 too! So you have the problem of possible inaccuracies in data. Without access to the actual database where you can search against CSR's and CI's and check where they are then you may have some trouble. I do have access to checking this data here at work but I can't compile a whole list, I'd be happy to check the odd ONE OR TWO out for you (O2 NETWORK ONLY) but I dont want to be flooded with requests

(PM only if you have any)
Now different operators will have different cell ID's obviously, but some may be the same so its important when compiling a list that you specify what network your on when you logged the CI.
I've probably confuse the FCUK out of everyone now but oh well lol.
