@Dazultra2000, Oh yea, i wasn't going to check your spelling but i think its SOOO funny that you pointed out my use of a "E" in dodgEy,
But at the same time you wrote "GEEZA" a word that does NOT exist, maybe you meant GEEZER

MR SPELL CHECK you idiot !

I chose the spelling I was using to help aid the stereotype. It helps pass along the impression of the type of person it is by conveying the accent (i.e. Cockney market boy). I know full well what the 'official' spelling is. Whereas mine was deliberate, I see no reason why an extra 'e' was required in the word 'dodgy', hence implying that it was a spelling mistake rather than an enhancement.

Now can we stop this petty bickering?

@Dazultra2000,well, i don't stereotype people, it can keep you very narrow minded. also not a good attitude to have in retailing, i have NEVER said i was any good at spelling, i don't have a problem with bad spelling & certainly would not have mentioned your mistake if you had not mine. i see forum spellcheckers as petty.

Orange is my network of choice but the phone locking is silly & the way they treated their long term Just Talk customers (price changes for all) was awfull, & the loss of free 0800 numbers on OVP was also unfair.
Apaart from that i am pleased with what has now become an average provider, shame because they used to be the best.

@nixin, most T Mobile phones are locked which is why i have never bought from them, if you want a T Mobile deal, best get it as a OVP deal on Orange network through CPW.

I didn't intend my point to send you off on such a wobbly to be honest. Was just an idle point out because I was annoyed.

Anyway, I agree that locking handsets is somewhat conservative and can put a lot of people off, but the majority of users really don't care anyway.
Since I've been at orange I have only had one person come in and request an unlock. Unfortunately it was a model that had to be sent away. In the end they went to one of the independent people who can unlock them and did it there.

I'm not downtalking these people at all. In fact they have served me well! I managed to get my P800 unlocked a week after I got it for no cost at all because I help one of them out every now and then. They are great people to have around, and it sure beats going to the network and having to pay £20+ for an unlock job that might even require the phone being sent away.

@Dazultra2000, your "wobbly" comment was intended to make an assumption as to my frame of mind, which can only ever at best be a guess.
As a point of interest, i have never had to have a phone unlocked myself, nice to know Orange staff can get a free unlocking when its "valued" customers can't.

EDIT, It seems to me you are saying that, if i buy my next phone (maybe the P9 as soon as it comes out) from Orange, they will unlock it if i tell them i need it unlocked for my extensive foriegn travel, for FREE ?? or would i have to PAY

Staff can't get free unlocks.
As I said, I had mine done at an independant source for free, because I helped out the guy who did it.

And yes, you'd still probably have to pay.
I don't make the rules y'know.
