I suspect that he is an expert on rechargable batteries, and it's not just SE's tech people that know how a Li-ion battery works!
A quick Google will bring up a host of sites that talk of the memory effect on Nickel batteries and the lack of memory effect on Li-ion batteries (and their dislike, and even failure as a result of over-discharge).

My attitude is to just use the phone and charge it when it suits. If (normally after 18-24 months) the battery life starts to reduce, then buy a new one! Or, more normally, get a new phone...
Nothing to worry about now. In the old days (like my first mobile - an enormous BT TACS thing) when the huge NiCads lasted 8 hours, then it was a concern. Those were the days! 20 mins talk and the standby time went down to 4 hours!!

@kenski - So, you are not just 'fully-draining' it mate ? Having a single bar left on the batt icon will best do - I guess, not full-drain after all here

Me thinks kenski's right.Essence's dt all the batt's cells will utilized max, not having some cells @ stage n while some are @ stage n+i ken's maintaining uniformity of d cells.

@jn, actually if you read my post again i let the phone shutdown or after the 1st warning tone then stick it to charger. It wont be fully drained even if it shutsdown there's still a little juice left.. But you can charge it even if its 1/4 power left if you really need to coz i do that sometimes, as I said my t68i's been the same ever since 3 days before it runs out 3yrs old and counting

Problem with SE/Ericsson phones is that the low warning tone is barely any notice because the phone dies out seconds after the warning label not giving the user enough time to charge the battery. I personally charge my phone when the meter gets to around 25%
