Dunno if it helps but have noticed that i get better reception with my unlocked/unbranded k700i than with models locked/branded to a carrier.. Have on average 4bars signal with my unlocked/unbranded k700i opposed to one bar with locked/branded model in same location.. Not sure why just an observation... This message was posted from a K700i

Before the t68i, i had some brand of Ericsson (no idea what the model was.. it had a flip though and a monochrome screen. That thing.. was a cracklebox.. horrible horrible signal. I actually wondered whether to get the t68i.

I did, as all of you have said, if the calls go through on a SE, the voice quality is by far one of the best of any cellphone company. True, nokia can lock on to signals, but they lack that quality. Voices will garble from time to time. To date i've only heard sound dropouts on SE's in poor reception areas, never garbling.

No idea why, but its nice. I have to say, the t610 did not have as good of a sound quality as the t68i, but the k700i is awesome, sound is much better (though the speaker is a bit quiet, t68i was a little louder i think, loudspeaker and headsets rock on it).

T68 it is the best phone with the best batt performance i've ever had. Any se phone before k700 have a poor rf, but k7 is a breakthrough, and s7 continuing that. Wondering if p900 -p910 have the same way, b'coz p800 rf as poor as t610. Anyone? This message was posted from a S700

I first had a first hand feel of SE T 100 around 3 years back, To tell you that was one sucker who had the worst receptiona nd battery, Fortunately the issue was partly resolved with the T 105..( Now my GF has one)..It still goes low on signal at times.
Another of my friend bought a T 610 when it was first launched, that began my love with SE phones..But gain T 610 had bad reception...I took the plunge This year with a Z 600..Although reception and clarity were not major issues, but The signal went haywire once you moved to a basement or subway..It kept going on SOS Mode even in my house..this was not handset issue as I changed 5 Z 600 replacements provided to me by SE, All of them had the same problem..
I got the K 700 and No problem whatsoever with reception, Full signal most of the time, rarely I have seens it drop signals or have any reception related issue..
Nokia 3210 and 6510 I still own compare with better reception No doubt, but Nokia does not give clarity in voice..I can hear whispers through My SE..
The issue of reception is not operator dependent, well in way it is but that not a major issue, My house is next to a commercial complex where the Cell Signal towers of all major Operator in New Delhi have towers. It was the Handset...I suggest go for K 700i it got 300 % better reception..But to be sure, Why don;t u ask someone in your area who has a K 700i to drop into your office for a coffee and you can check the recpetion...

Some people here go off-topic and say something about battery performance. Though I disaprove of off-topicness I will commit this sin myself because I need to state that the BHC-11 1400Mhz battery in the A2628s is the most powerful battery I have ever encountered in any phone.

That was a battery-phone combo that made you forget where you had put the charger. It is also the only phone I think where the 'official' standby/talk times were an underestimation.

(edit: add:) Returning to topic I had no problems with reception on the T600. It wasn't the best, but it was just average. Never observed significant differences with other phones.

I do agree that the battery has some effect on the transmission power but I'm not quite convinced that it has any significant effect on the reception of the phone.

Good rec do effect batt performance, thats fact. Thatswhy the amazing results at lab tests, what unfortunately confuse and disappoint many users after reading the manual and later compare it with their own experiences. This message was posted from a T68i

Boba's right. Basically, d poorer reception at a location, d more power d phone uses in maintaining d signal, thus reducing battery charge time.

It does even effect the charging, thatsway is the off mode charging the best for batt and later its performance. This message was posted from a T68i

@dela - A battery with a 1.4K mah Surely, it is one to contend with in terms of it's stand-by time . . . as the AVERAGE ones can only go as far as, say, 700-800 mah (average) !
