The problem with SE is they have lost millions last year while pouring money into the Pxx series(their flagship), even after realizing is not what they thought it should have been.Now, NOKIA on the other hand sticked to the basics and gave the masses what they wanted while quietly improving their top end.(and market share).Today only handfull of SE fans still believe that SE produces top class phones.None of the top and most expensive SE models matches the top of Nokia and if they don't get their finances back in line soon, they must watch for samsuns and motorolas ! I for one could'nt care less who builds my cell as long as it does what I want it to.Does SE cells have better build quality? Maybe yes but who cares? Most cellphones are insurred.If it brakes is quickly getting replaced.After all is only a, well - a cellphone ;-)

I don't think SE will ever overtake the marketshare from Nokia simply because a lot people fall into the impression that nokias are fun and it's the most user-friendly phone.

The T610 must have been the largest selling one, but the PXX are the flagship models of SE. No doubt.

that helps to figure out how each company's market strategy is. I'm an SE fan, I might sometimes be irritated by the speed at which handsets of SE were released, they're a bit too slow, but like I said at the top, what Gigs wrote certainly hit the spot. Nokia decided to make the phones with all these designs, some have same designs, but they decided to cut this and that, this and that, this and that, and put numbers similar to the previous one. Then they throw out a whole mess of phones and let people to choose for themselves. SE however were different, instead of cutting this and that, they put it in, but not that everything is put in, but they studied the market well before doing so.
K700i for example, they knew Memory Expansion were available to the market, but they cut it off, why? May be its because they knew its still not the right time. Now people are complaining that K700i needed Memory Expansion, so SE decided to bring out a new product that serves customer's opinion. SE's strategy are more precised and well predicted IMO, while Nokia are well predicted too, but not precised. Throwing out a lot of phones while quality stays the same isn't a smart way. So what if we have insurance, it still proves that which phones have better quality. Sony is one of the best quality company for many products all over the world and we know that. Sony still kept its quality concept and slowly slide out phones for people. Look at the new K600i, Alimunum body, I never see Nokia's mid end phones came out with a body like that. 3G doesn't mean its a high end, its just a little brother of K700i, but may be it might be taller. All I see from Nokia is a cheap plastic like 7610 and the other 7 and 6 series(except 6630 and 6680 that I think was the best for them).

But Nokia's strategy also means there is more choice for the customers. You don't like a particular model, go for the other one with similar features. Is that bad?

And in the end nokia money minting machine makes more than SE. For corporates it is all that matters.
