all you SE lovers are funny...
look at the numbers SE is pretty much last in the game... losing to freakin LG... if they can't beat LG what makes you think they can even challenge nokia.... hahaahahhah
anyways i love SE products ..everything about them.. except for not have user defined SMS tones.. (but that's suppose to changed)
but the reality is they're WAY behind in the market and not churning handsets fast/aggressive enough to take the industry by storm.
but then again as long as thier profitable maybe they don't care that much.. remember selling tons of phones doesn't mean you make lots of money. look at nintentdo for example.
i will continue to use SE as long as they contiue to develop quality handsets and so far they haven;t failed me... wish they would speed up with the quadband tech as well..

Yes. But while Nokia has decreased their profit, SE has increased it. So from that perspective sales doesnt mean everything!
The problem Nokia has is that to defend or increase their market share, they have had to lower the price of their phones meaning they earn less money on each sold unit. At same time SE have been capable of keeping their margins and even increse them slightly.

People seem to forget that SE is a very young company when compared with competition...when we compare what it is now with 4 years ago evolution is remarkable. As long their economic and finantial condition is enough for keeping launching kick ass products like t68, t610, k700, w800 im fine with it, they dont need to be #1 :-)

thats partly correct execpt the fact that se s margin per phone is still a lot lower than nokias. last report i saw had se making 8% per phone and nokia making 18% nokias was down from 29% but this is still way ahead.
also nokia profit per phone is down but sales are up so they aint lossing as much.
i aint turning it into a nokia vs se argument just pointing out that sales to se are important, as they need cash to re invest and keep at the for front of technology

i think your right se have done very well in a short space of time. they do need to really start pushing things forward though, they need to get into the top4 this year as this will get people thinking about them more as an alternative to the big 3
i do think they have a problem in translating the phones they have (which are very good) into a real main stream option along side motorola samsung and nokia

that's a weak arguement.. SE is still ericcson nothing has changed...

They are achieving some great market penetration in some places: here in portugal t610 is everywhere! Only nokia handsets are as popular, other brands are behind...and just two years ago it would be real hard to find a SE somewhere ;-)
